The death sentence may be commuted to life. But granting a pardon after 3 years is a no no!

I still remember that murder case in 2011, that man stabbed his wife 74 times.

Just imagine stabbing your wife and mother of your children a massive 74 times.

Now he's pleading for mercy instead of killing himself; and some people will be pleading on his behalf. I know something is wrong with we Africans we have short memory that why we don't progress.

Second chance is a worn out cliche used by criminals to attract sympathy.
Death sentences are handed to murderers that deserve no "second chance"
because of the enormity of their crimes.

He should never be released, the victim has no prospect of second chance,
so the killer pastor should rot in jail.
The reason why criminals who murder their victims are so bold these days is
because Nigeria hardly executes condemned inmates. They are left to enjoy
their life in prison and even some get released while their victims life and aspirations
has been terminated.

Anybody that don't want to be punished should not draw the first blood.

If he was remorseful, he'd gladly accept his fate as atonement for his evil deed and not to brazenly ask for pardon 3yrs after killing someone's child

The law of the land has to be upheld. God even told us in the Bible to obey law of the land.

However, I'd support commuting his death sentence to life imprisonment, since we humans should not take a life, like the murderer did.
