You are the one that needs educatin. Traditionally Obas did not meet or encounter each other.
The issue of being a deity and older than everyone is true WITHIN YOUR KINGDOM. There is simply no established protocol or etiquette rule of how Obas should behave to one another.
In terms of hierarchy among Obas that is an endless argument.The reality is that kings come and go .The greatest king of one era may be the smallest of another. Just like we have America today once it was Britain,It was Rome and so on.
There nevever was any one king that ruled the entire Yorubaland the closest to that was Alaafin and there was nothing divine or ordained about it .Similarly the Oba of Eko who previously was a nonentity is now very important. No king is important outside his domain. That is the truth. The Ooni cannot go to England and form older than everyone just as he cannot do that in Benin.
All established Obas are equal ceremonially but when they sit down to talk Ooni will not address Alaafin the same way as he would address his coevals.
The Oba of Lagos misbehaved and the Ooni cannot coe down to his level. The solution is simply keep out of each other's way and next time shake with care.
