The people here don't have a problem with a Christian settler vying for an elective post. Although this hasn't happened before. Everyone is first looked at as a Jos person before anything else. bejeiodus:Ibrahim Mantu is an indigenous Muslim from Mangu. He had the luck of coming at a time when religion was a non-issue. There was that lack of mutual suspicion at the time. People voted for him due to his charm and 'charisma' then. Had religion been factored in, he would have considered himself lucky to garner up to 8% votes in the Plateau Central Senatorial Zone, which happens to be my zone. |
