neocortex:
His piece could have been an excellent one had he not include this and show
how shallow he is:

Domestic violence has nothing to do with money or class it happens all
across board poor, middle class and rich men.

A short trip to a divorce court or human rights office would have cleared
his doubt but no he had to make a baseless generalisation like all simpletons do.

A violent man will always exhibit violent tendencies regardless of class.
Stop demonising successful men!

Bizibi:
how can show references when many of them are not popular......
This is exactly what I am driving at, people make conclusions based on what they read,
who knows the level of domestic violence going on in ghettos, villages ?
but it is assumed that "rich men" are the most violent one.

He was referring to women in d entertainment industry.
So women in the entertainment industry should not contemplate marrying rich men
because they are inferior or carry strange genes ?
Please read the guys post from the beginning to gain the full contextual meaning.

This talk of domestic violence is one-sided. Don't we have women who beat their husbands up?
Re: 'you Brought This On Yourself' - Nollywood Filmmaker Tells Mercy Aigbe by Nobody: 8:26am On May 03, 2017
Domestic abuse is everywhere. What we see on social media is a fraction of the real statistics. It is a new phase in the history of mankind, we have promoted social vices to the point of no return. We must accept the basic facts that technology has replaced the very fabric of love. We no longer spend time with our spouses due to overworking to keep up with latest stuff and they search for that inner bonding outside their homes, then comes social media, giving people adrenaline as they receive 'likes' and 'upvotes'. It is a new paradigm and we must accept that the basic requirement for a mate, is companionship, sex and babies. Now we can get all that without marriage, what is the point getting married when the social paradigm has replace those cravings with computerized phones and tablets.

It is the end of marriage as we knew it. We must all learn to live with ourselves and who ever has a happy marriage and relationship should hold tight unto that. Its a new world out there.

But Mercy Aigbe is not complaining na. Why are people drinking panadol for her headache? She has said it several times that the husband doesn't touch her. Ah ah. Do you know if they are training to be like Anthony Joshua? If the husband or Mercy wins IBF and WBF tomorrow now, all of you ll come to form familiarity. Leave the couples to continue with their training sessions mbok.

Hiccups:
It's easy to refer to men as wife beaters. Although I'm opposed to domestic violence, Objective reasoning combined with the law of cause and effect indicates 'something' must have pushed a man to beat his wife. Until anyone can disclose what the 'something' is or are, we can't conclude who's wrong or right.
You just nailed it.
No matter how long we talk, it won't stop, until we teach our ladies/women on what to say and what not to say. Some will argue that when she talks, the man should talk back, but they forget not all men can walk away when it is getting heated.
See, their is a reason every year, nysc coordinators sensitize graduates (going to the northern states to serve) on what not to say, and what they should avoid talking about, since you have been sensitized about how they could go haywire concerning certain topics, why not avoid it at all cost? That is how they put it in some nysc camp.
Now to the ladies, God gave you a sharp mouth, doesn't mean every man can tolerate what you spill out. Some men can't take a joke about their village people, some can't take "ya fada" joke.... so why not avoid talking about those things that can start the trouble?

Asking a Man to talk back when a woman talks is like expecting a stammerer to do same. People are quick to say "but she's a woman", these same people would never say "but he is a man", funny enough these are same people advocating gender equality. This generation has a lot of confused people. All the same men should resist hitting any woman. The best dosage for any woman is avoiding and ignoring them, that act alone can really get to any woman cause women feeds off a man's attention.

isn't it obvious?! Let me make it clearer 4 u: d objection u raised 2 his write up is uncalled 4 because he specified by adding 'and batters u in d process'. He didnt generalise 2 every successful man, he meant d ones dat beat u while buying nice things 4 u.

He did, by singling out rich men in his examples,
he gave away his targets.

By the way, are you and the guy saying that poor
men don't batter their girlfriends' while dating ?
And the same battered girlfriend eventually marries
the abuser.

Maybe it is not the same Nigeria we both live.

your comment blew me off, like it making soo much sense. its will be more interesting if u are a guy. let guyz just think right so they don't look envious of success nd scare it away from themselves. domestic violence really doesn't have to do with status, poor men also beat their wives too, as a matter of fact for every 3 out of 10 rich men that beats their wives, 7 out of 10 poor men will do same too. its only a rich man with out character that hits a woman, but for a poor man, his character, life frustration, his insecurity etc can make him hit his woman

This statement reflects one mentality responsible for destroying most marriages. Why do most women thinks along this line?
