Ur point is baseless reason been that the exploration and drilling done by this oil coys still have some facilities and warehouse located their. U don't expect an oil coy that has a lot of logistics, servicing and cash flow investors relocate to Niger delta simply becos of sentiments. Hw many of this ND have developed logistics run economy the answer is glaring. You don't expect an investors to come build an airport, seaport in ND when the government their can not guaranty them a safe business zone.since shell operate in more than 4 state you should also clamour for headquarters for each of those state the operate or better still headquarters in all the oil producing town since they drill oil their.Nigeria problem is simply stone age reasoning mixed with mediocrity.
there is no security but they are exploring oil? Just check your hypocrisy, now it's logistics abi.

With marching ground ideology, aimless so called lazy youth leader that destroy your property for not compensating the boys.pls don't give me that Houston rubbish of having the hqtr of major oil coys.if your are sincere the government provide the necessary and tax rebate for oil coys.Nigeria is the only country
where the community shout our oil as if all lands do not belong to the Fgn

Sometimes I wonder how you guys reason. NigerDelta is unsafe for oil coys to do business, but safe for exploitation of crude oil. If ND is unsafe why not move your pipelines and all your equipment from the zone? Do you know the amount of damage that gass flaring has caused on these areas? Take Ogoni as a case study.
And as for all land belonging to the FG. So the FG will come from no where and joyfully extract gold from a mine sitting on your fathers grave all in the name of ALL LANDS BELONG TO THE FG.

As for lazyiness on the part of the youths, oil coys can sign an MoU with host communities on the best way of reducing youth restiveness .Think with your brain please.

They state govt in the south south and the NNDC get enough money already to take care of the state, but will rather share it amongst themselves and use same money to buy houses in Lagos. Use your head.

When you try to steal crude oil and vandalise oil pipelines, whose fault is it that oil spills into your farmland. Carry on with your bombings while you suffer the consequences. Takes two to tango..

then they should remove all their pipelines from the unsafe region and take it to where their headquarters is that is safe.

Open our ports in South South they will spend the whole day debating why we shouldn't have any, Oya come and develop our states like how you did in Abuja, No.

Speak about safety, do you know how many people that are killed on a daily basis in Lagos every night? In traffic alone people are being shoot at.

Abeg it's not by force, take all your pipes to the place you feel that is safe. And stop polluting our land, water and air. While you dey lagos dey breath fresh air.

APC government think they are wise, they're just buying time for the bigger fight that will soon start in the Creeks. Una no fit fooll us like that.

I went to PH in 2006. As at hen expats used to walk about freely, they used to go clubbing without escorts etc, then the kidnapping and criminals started and they moved into fortified estates and now move only with significant security. Even worse, I know hundred of NIGERIAN's who also relocated their families to the West or Abuja due to reckless and everyday kidnapping. If Nigerian middle class are leaving a town in droves, does that seem like a safe zone to come and site company HQ??

Besides SPDC HQ is in PH! How many of you has it helped? Will everybody work there? Like it or not, the west is much more safe, organised and less likely to commit crimes because most of the people value education and not millitancy as a way to get ahead in life. And the higher educational standards of the west didn't come via the FG or your oil money, it came via the old western region and is still imbibed by the western governors and people who value its benefit. What have the governors of the SS done with extra derivation money all these decades? I know many colleagues who tried to build houses in PH and were harrased by gangs and touts and either had to forgo land or pay huge sums for peace. Not saying there is not omo onile in the west, but the level it gets to in the SS and PH in particular is to another level!!

Funny enough the people of the SS find it easy to go and protest in front of Shell gate for lack of water, roads, empowerment etc, but they will never go to the LG HQ or government house. That sort of mentality is where the real problem lies, not with whether Chevron's HQ is in Rivers or not.

are you new to ibos childish propaganda? they lie to make Niger deltans see them as good neighbors. they show fake love to them while demonizing others just to lay claim to their oil while pretending to see oil as nothing.

they shout afonja up and down just to blackmail them to buy into their secession agenda.

but guess what? everyone knows them for who they are: criminals, carnibals, ritualists, looters and common thieves.

The right response should have been to make legislation protecting company operations and provide tight security to enforce the legislation. Then pass the legislation relocating the Headquarters. Our leaders don't appear to act in the general interest of the nation and are not willing to solve issues with technical and professional acumen. Its a pity. cry

Actually my earlier post on this thread was to address the outrage from the Ijaw youths on the refusal of the Reps to endorse the relocation of Oil companies HQ.

With true federalism or resource control, are you also going to determine where the companies site their HQs?

On Lagos issues, lets reverse the case, let me know what you think. If Lagos happened to be in the Niger delta and the south west was the home of oil exploration and the oil companies drilling oil in the south west decides to site their HQs in Lagos which is in the Niger delta, would you still demand that the HQs be moved from your region (Niger delta) to the region (south west) where the oil is being drilled? smiley
