rafindo: Sometimes I wonder how you guys reason. NigerDelta is unsafe for oil coys to do business, but safe for exploitation of crude oil. If ND is unsafe why not move your pipelines and all your equipment from the zone? Do you know the amount of damage that gass flaring has caused on these areas? Take Ogoni as a case study. And as for all land belonging to the FG. So the FG will come from no where and joyfully extract gold from a mine sitting on your fathers grave all in the name of ALL LANDS BELONG TO THE FG. As for lazyiness on the part of the youths, oil coys can sign an MoU with host communities on the best way of reducing youth restiveness .Think with your brain please. 3 Likes |

Remember GEJ gave his most sensitive position COAS to the SE, why becos we are one. Read wetin OP post, SS & SE voted as a block. I went to PH in 2006. As at hen expats used to walk about freely, they used to go clubbing without escorts etc, then the kidnapping and criminals started and they moved into fortified estates and now move only with significant security. Even worse, I know hundred of NIGERIAN's who also relocated their families to the West or Abuja due to reckless and everyday kidnapping. If Nigerian middle class are leaving a town in droves, does that seem like a safe zone to come and site company HQ?? Besides SPDC HQ is in PH! How many of you has it helped? Will everybody work there? Like it or not, the west is much more safe, organised and less likely to commit crimes because most of the people value education and not millitancy as a way to get ahead in life. And the higher educational standards of the west didn't come via the FG or your oil money, it came via the old western region and is still imbibed by the western governors and people who value its benefit. What have the governors of the SS done with extra derivation money all these decades? I know many colleagues who tried to build houses in PH and were harrased by gangs and touts and either had to forgo land or pay huge sums for peace. Not saying there is not omo onile in the west, but the level it gets to in the SS and PH in particular is to another level!! Funny enough the people of the SS find it easy to go and protest in front of Shell gate for lack of water, roads, empowerment etc, but they will never go to the LG HQ or government house. That sort of mentality is where the real problem lies, not with whether Chevron's HQ is in Rivers or not. 3 Likes |

janellemonae: are you new to ibos childish propaganda? they lie to make Niger deltans see them as good neighbors. they show fake love to them while demonizing others just to lay claim to their oil while pretending to see oil as nothing. they shout afonja up and down just to blackmail them to buy into their secession agenda. but guess what? everyone knows them for who they are: criminals, carnibals, ritualists, looters and common thieves. 1 Like |

The right response should have been to make legislation protecting company operations and provide tight security to enforce the legislation. Then pass the legislation relocating the Headquarters. Our leaders don't appear to act in the general interest of the nation and are not willing to solve issues with technical and professional acumen. Its a pity. |

Sapeleboy911:.The militant have caused more environmental pollution than the oil coys have. Stop hiding under the banner of environmental pollution to propagate unrealistic business decision that involves millions of USD .if u think the money is change then you can drill it with ur mou.I repeat operational and corporation headquarters is the sole business prerogative of the coys.Ask ur self while the have not relocated since all this years.it is only in Nigeria that economics theory do not hold forth becos of our stone age village reasoning mindset like urs. Even indigenous oil coys owned by ND indigenes have their HQ in Lagos and you are ranting shamelessly where the location of a business is.tell Lafarge to relocate to sagamu since the limestone is located their 3 Likes |
