MoyoGENERAL:
Sadly, you may have proffered a reasonable advise, but keenly, in all candor; "Not coming back" is quite unfortunate for our national development as we continue to lose our gifted Diasporas who ought to replicate sustainable institutions upon return to Nigeria.

We can't continue to thread this pathetic path of national neglect, bury our heads in theSand, turn a blind eye and expect a miraculous transformation in our economy in the future. Stimulating an economy out of recession or projecting an economy towards development is not by mere wish nor voodoo practice! It is by taking responsibility!

The truth is, our problem is beyond leadership; we are at War with our culture, we are at war with our beliefs, we are at war with our systems, and we must fight it as a nation and take up our challenges with daunting resolve. Everyone is a victim and we must individually begin to take responsibility for our emancipation as a country. Nigeria need a dire acculturation program, social, physical and economical reformation program to build US for a sustainable future. Ultimately, the Nigerian Diaspora community inclusive, must arise and key into these reformation program, put renewed faith in the nation's destiny, shun petty ideas as to immediate interest satisfaction, help drive development, sustainable structures and institutions back at home.

The future demand no less.
You have spoken well, but let me say that the culture and beliefs you talk about is the enemy. We have a culture that obligate youths to carry family responsibility at a young age when they are supposed to be spending time advancing in their various fields of study. Most scientific discovery was achieved by people who have spent years learning and testing their theories. Not finding money to feed papa and mama. And talk of beliefs, we have answers to all questions, it's in the bible. How can we learn about splitting water to get Nitrogen, or converting sand into an energy source. It's even harder to think in a society that threatens your tomorrow.

I beg to disagree with you. Two months ago, I met a guy STRANDED at a motor park and we got talking. He studied in Europe on scholarship for both his masters and PhD. He holds a PhD in Nuclear Physics. He has been back for quite a while and no job. The guy's situation, as at the time of my encounter with him, is not one I will wish for anybody, not even my enemy.

Ignoramus one of my friends graduated with a first class degree in Nuclear Physics and we didn't make a noise about it because to us it's not a big deal. Currently about 12 Kogites graduated with First class from Federal University of Technology, Minna and no one is making a noise about it. Vedaxcool

Very impressive. Please do your damndest to stay away from that country called Nigeria.

That place is the graveyard of ideas, talents and skills.

You'll just end up in a university lecture hall somewhere dictating notes to first and third years.

I'm sure you don't want that.

I liked the post, and unlike you there are some of us who recognize the truth when we see it. The real enemies of this country are those who kept pretending that all was well up until it got this bad. The worst of the bunch are even still pretending right now under the canopy of false patriotism.

If you aren't even honest about the state of things, how can you truly be a friend of the country? Friends tell the truth that no one else wants to.

How many good brains get wasted every day in Nigeria? A country that celebrate Big Brother Naija housemates more than intellectuals. Then the moment one gets refined by another country, we want them back so they can get wasted like the others.

American Idol, Super bowl and keeping up with the Kardashians have all been on prime time TV which has millions of viewers tuned in also Beyonce, Kanye West and Co are celebrated in US and can actually swing votes during elections

Nigerians are basically lazy. A PhD holder in Nuclear physics should be looking into research e. g "How to use nuclear energy to generate power for us here, do you think a company interested in providing alternative energy will not sponsor him or her? But instead the only thing such a person will be thinking of is how to get government job

Even private indigenous companies or persons can fund such a research but all we keep hearing is how our bests brains are not harnessed. Was it the US government that funded Albert Aistein's researches? Most of these PhD holders are on scholarship, if they could apply and win scholarships it's not impossible to apply and win research grants

but its so pathetic and pain full that after a post Is made d first comment you see is someone asking if its AFONJAS or d other one that I can't remember d name right now, it isn't helping us as Nigerian.

The brother that put her picture up at that link, is really funny. Why paste her picture & her achievement, without giving any info on her name, background, inspiration, foreign university she attended and the motivation that drove her to excel? This is a lazy method of reporting....
