New plastic polymer £5 note was said to be more durable when it was brought in But drug users who roll it up to snort cocaine through say it is cutting their noses Experts have warned that blood on notes could increase spread of infections Drug users have claimed the new plastic £5 note is cutting their noses when they snort cocaine. The 'indestructible' polymer fivers brought in last year are difficult to tear and can survive being put through the washing machine and other spills. But users of the illegal Class A drug say it is more problematic than traditional paper notes when used to snort the substance. The cuts have become known as 'getting Winstoned' due to the notes bearing a portrait of Sir Winston Churchill, it was reported this week. One cocaine user told The Metro: 'When I told my friend how I was in agony he said I had been 'Winstoned' and it was happening to everyone.'
