I don't blame you for not knowing where to quote. You actually don't read the Bible. You only memorize all those prayer you were taught from the cradle.

I quoted the Bible because the word of God is the foundation of my faith. Why can't you quote one single verse that approves praying through angel, Mary or saint?

You want to know my church? Well let me shock you. Church association is not a requirement to make heaven. And you so much pride yourself in 1.2billion that can never be wrong because they are majority. Well, hear what the Bible says;

(Matthew 7:13 KJV) Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

The multitude was wrong in the days of Noah and they will be wrong again. Admission to heaven is not by simple human majority vote. One with God is majority and Noah's family is an example.

Educate me please. Show me the verse of Bible. I'm still waiting....

We the members of the Church pray for and request prayers from one another. 1Tim 2:1 "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men". Also look at 1Thess.5:25 and Eph.6:19

If you don't need their help,I have no problem with that, but don't condemn me for asking a righteous person to pray for me because "The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective". James 5:16

Jesus is the mediator, I agree, Yet it does not nullify (1Tim 2:1) "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men". St. Paul calls us to intercession, yet we know that Christ continues to intercede, since (Heb 7:24-25) says: "But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them". St Paul knows this eternal Intercessory role of Christ, yet he exhorts the faithful to "Intercessions for all men" without fear of contradiction, it therefore means that we can participate in these aspect of Christ's ministry according to the level of "bonding" between us and Jesus without anyone feeling that recognition is taking away from Christ.

Good start.

At least you quoted the Bible. We are getting there.

The scripture you quoted below, is Paul talking to living people listening to him or talking to dead saints or asking us to pray through them? Because if you read on it says:

(1 Timothy 2:2 KJV) For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
.
.
.

(1 Timothy 2:5 KJV) For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Jesus is the mediator, I agree, Yet it does not nullify (1Tim 2:1) "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men

BTW I appreciate that we are both looking into the word of God together. Even heaven is happy... *smiles*

Thanks for the explanation. But is this a ceremonial title or do they have an official role in the church?

After the ceremony, they are included in the list of recognized saints of the church.

Before I go into the roles of the Saints of the church, I'll give you the basic synopsis.

There's the Triumphant church. Those who have successfully ran the earthly race and made heaven.

While those of us here on earth still trying to make the cut are the militant church.

The church believes in the communion of saints (A fellowship between the triumphant church and the militant church). The church believes these dead Christians who have made heaven can pray and intercede on our behalf.

When someone is canonised by the church, the church is simply affirming its strong believe that the person is in Heaven (There are rigorous steps the church takes to ascertain this) and invites the militant church to ask for their intercessions.

I hope you understand now

This is my problem with Christianity, we attack each other. This gives other religions an edge over us. I wish we can love each other as Christ loves the church.

Why do we always fight amongst ourselves? We call ourselves Christians yet we fight at any given opportunity. We abuse other religions for not accommodating others but we don't accommodate ourselves. I just hope and pray that one day, we will realise that we're human first before every other things came in.

Guy stop this ranting of "where is it in the bible?" did u not read from scripture that a lot of things Christ did that didn't find their ways into scripture? And did St Paul not ask Christians to hold fast to the teachings he bestows on them whether by letter (scrpture) or word of mouth( oral tradition)? 2.Thes. 2:15, sacred Tradition...that is oral teachings came before the Bible. Also did u not read where Christ bestowed on Peter the keys of Heaven and the power of binding and losing in Matt.16-18-19 an an other Apostles in Matt.18:18? It was this authority the Apostles relied on in steering the church, a pointing of deacons as a Acts 6:1-7, taking crucial decision like bold claims of working in conjunction with the holy Spirit regarding dietary laws. Acts 16:28, setting guidelines regarding Church worship...go read church history how the church Fathers as successors of the apostles decided the canons of the scripture almost 400 years into christianity. If you have problem with the Catholic Church, den refrain from worshipped on Sunday, using the Bible, observing Easter and Christmas and lots more. If God actually prohibited the making of image as u guys are wont to point out, why did he allow cherubs to be moulded on the ark of the covenant? Or did God turn blind eyes when Solomon adorned the temple with images of lions, oxen and cherubs, 1 kings 6: 23-28,29,32;7:29? Why did God ask Mos to make a bronze serpent and instructed the bitten children of isreal to look up to it for healings? Num 21:7-9? For those asking if th Catholic Church is God really shows the shallowness of protestantism. Christ bequeathed supreme powers/authority to his Church he founded in St. Peter...same authority, St. Peter's successors in the name of Pope enjoy till today. That why for more than two thousand years the Catholic Church still thrives despite d numerous failings of her members and the bad popes. Hence the church is able to make bold claims like forgiving sins Jn 20:23, declaring a person to to Saint in heaven but never making anybody a saint (the church declares not make Saints...holy life makes one a saints) in the cause of history the Catholic Church had have a defend it's teachings against numerous heretical teachings, apostasies and hostile movement as is prevalent among man-made churches today. Christ founded a church and not a Bible. Bible came out of necessity to write down t life of Christ and the need to respond to questions the young thriving Christian community were asking hence the various letters
In other word, the (Catholic) church and not the Bible is the pillar and guardian of the revealed Truth. 1.Tim 3:14-16, and the Bible came out of the Church.
Iamzik:

I don't need to pray to God through Mary, any Angel or Saint. Praying through Jesus Christ would do.

(Luke 11:1 KJV) And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.

(Luke 11:2 KJV) And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

(John 16:23 KJV) Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

Where did your Bible ask you to pray through Mary or angel or Saint? Please quote the verse let's see. Waiting....

I'm happy you read the Christian creed. Allah will remind you when you confessed Jesus as Lord hahahaha

Now to the crux of it:
So because some people in America converted their slaves by force many centuries ago then you think it's right to still be in the business of religious terrorism in the 21st century. Are the rest of the world their slaves?

And how was mecca and Medina and Arab world converted? By tracts and evangelism and visitation?

BTW they now know that Jesus did not preach violence. Muslims are migrating to America and Europe in droves. If they are still killing like your Isis brothers in Syria I doubt they will want to move to America

The predominant Christian world is peaceful and accommodating with religious freedom. The average Muslim nation does not guarantee freedom to worship by declaring Islam a state religion. Which one is more accommodating to you?

America is bad and ungodly but when Donald Trump ask people to stay in their Islamic country they were shouting Upandan.

Hypocrisy is when you ask your host country to practice freedom of religion but your own country back home does not guarantee that freedom to other religions

And before you say Isis is not Muslim just watch their videos online and hear them quote straight from thesame Quran. I don't think you support violence but to Isis you are as good as the Christian he wants to bomb. To them a moderate Muslim is no Muslim at all.

The rationale of forceful, violent conversion is outdated. Help us tell your radical brothers maybe they will listen to you.
