Let's look at this scenario, I talk to Mr. A to help me tell Mr B that I need a watch. This means that I spoke to Mr A. We can't say I didn't speak to Mr A, that instead I spoke through him. It is impossible. Me and Mr A definitely had a conversation. Now let us substitute ''talk/speak'' with 'pray'. I pray to Mr A to help me pray to Mr B that I need a new watch or a new pen.
