My brother you have to visit first and be sure you really want to stay there or its just an illusion, then you can apply for a resident permit.
Yes visiting first is not a bad idea but you went about it the wrong way.

1.Did she sent you an IV? if yes, did you attach that to your visa application form?

2. If no 1 is not the case..did you book a hotel and attach the reservation email to your visa application form?

3. How many days did you indicate in your visa application form and how much do you have in cash?

@OP
You have to accept the fact that you were not detained for no reason. It's not right to come online and say that the namibian immigration were not fair when you actually intend to enter Namibia under false pretense and abscond. Corruption is soo rife in this country that we no longer even know right from wrong.

Having said that, i think a lot of Nigerians travel abroad under false pretense too. It's only when they get there and settle down that they start to debase other people's hustle. How many of the people attacking the guy traveled abroad genuinely. It's either you went through school or supposed visit and then changed your status afterwards.
I came here through education and walk my way legitimately to citizenship so what is wrong with that?

There are legitimate ways to citizenship in many countries IF you want to do things the right way and NOT trying to cheat the immigration system and get caught

It's not illegitimate to get citizenship by first schooling abroad. But what did you tell them at the embassy when you were being interviewed or sent your application? Let me guess "Once i'm done schooling, i'll come back home and add my quota to the development of my country". That's actually what they want to hear but a lot of people have post-educational plans which includes getting a job upon graduation, becoming a permanent resident and invariably becoming a citizen. Except of course the decision to remain in the UK came up after you were done with school.

My point is that a lot of us are not totally clean and we have done some things to get to where we are.

The UK does not conduct visa interviews except for a few cases. I did not intend to stay as I had a very good job back home but I got an offer which I accepted. That does not stop me from moving back as soon as I find a better offer.
This case smells of deceit based on what he has said so far. There's the right way and the wrong way.

He hasn't told us what really happened before implying that it's because he is a Nigerian. Some other Nigerians go there and are not harassed like that. Even people who travel to more advanced countries are not illegally detained without reason. Let him tell us the full story and you will know that there is much more involved

Even the bribe he paid to the visa officials might be one of the issues, what is the need of bribing them with such an amount if he was genuinely going for only a visit? it all depends
imagine,,,, u av 500k to pay as bribe for visa to namibia.... why not spend it for us visa

You are making some uninformed assumptions. There is no such question in the UK tier4 visa application form at that time and I never attended any interview.

Say you are not clean because I don't have time for some dodge deals.

Lol, you make me laugh, not everyone is a desperado like you, imagine you can only reason like one, I knew your reply will be like this. When you finish all this nonsense talk u will humble yourself and one day I hope you will learn that there is time for everything. When you act ahead or behind your timing it will affect your success even in visa application, and you will start all this crafty stuff out of frustration, commot here jor, N500K for Namibian visa? Hehehehe

You conveniently dodged my question. Upon finishing your studies, you should have returned to Nigerian first and then apply for British citizenship from Nigeria if you're the saint you claim to be. Better still, you should have made it known at the time of application that you could decide to remain in the UK if you're such a saint. You hid under the pretense of going to school to become a UK citizen which is what a lot of Nigerians are doing. So, i don't understand how yours is saintly and others are criminals.

Afam4eva you are ignorant of what you are talking about, i came to the UK as genuine foreign student, studied from certificate level to Msc, after my degree i applied for work visa and worked for 2yrs before going back for my Msc. The process i took wasn't against the immigration rules.

I did not come to the UK with visiting visa and trying to convert it to permanent residency. The decision to stay back for more studies and work was mine because i saw a legitimate opportunity.

I can understand why you traveled to Seychelles couple of yrs ago hoping to travel to Canada from there, it does not work that way.

Don't mind him. He is only after their passport. I said this earlier. I knew that was his motive but unfortunately, that country has tough immigration. Don't even dare them cos they will fish out your motive. They believe u can't be coming to Namibia of all places when u have SA and other touristic Southern African countries.
Even if he is after passport he should at least go through proper channel. This is exactly why Nigerians are treated like criminals at airports around the world, people here can play race card as much as they want but some Nigerians have really dented our image and even Nigerians with genuine intentions are paying the price.

Over 60% of those applying for visas pay exorbitant money to travel agent to help them secure documents for visas or even visas. And majority of those intending to travel now have 70% plan to stay there. The thing that pained me most is that they didnt allow the man to finish his story before they started their holiness campaign theories

You're going round circles. You went to the UK as a genuine student. You should have also left as a genuine student. Why did you need to apply for a work visa. That's not work the British Embassy had in mind when they gave you a study visa. It's not a crime like i said earlier but you used your Ogbon to beat the system

Lol grin It's Mauritius not Sechelles. I'm not dumb enough to think that travelling to Mauritius makes it easier for me to cross over to any foreign country. I went there to study briefly which i did and came back as a good citizen of Nigeria grin I've been discussing relocating to the US and Canada for the past 5 years and i haven't gotten through to actually taking the step because i don't want to be an illegal considering i'm a law abiding citizen grin
