You probably didn't know you contradicted your position on your above bold statements.

DS brand is owned by Peugeot (PSA). In other words, DS is Peugeot, same way Toyota owns Lexus (Lexus is Toyota).

The DS 7 is same platform with Peugeot 3008. And same Peugeot 3008 won the 2017 European Car of the Year, even with all other car brands all over the world used in Europe that aimed for that position. Yet you considered Peugeot as "too low-rent" (in your words)? And still wondered why the President chose the DS 7 (Peugeot 3008)?

Maybe you don't know that Peugeot (PSA) currently owns more than 4 brands: Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Opel, Vauxhall, etc.

Being a car journalist or blogger is an interesting career. But you have to choose how to go about it: To be sectional or worldwide. If you choose worldwide, then don't limit your knowledge in Auto industry in North America. There are lot good things also going on in automobile industry outside Canada and USA, if you choose to know them.

Of course I know but the possibility is still there. An advance team can only sniff out dangers, block out spots they feel. What of the danger of personnel that maybe a turncoat or double agent?
