This same Government will still have to pay thousands if not millions of state workers, build roads and hospitals etc.

Yes, there is dignity in labour, including wheel barrow pushing. If I do not have an education in demand, a trade skill like carpentry, auto mechanic, brick laying, tailoring, farming etc, I will be pushing wheel barrow. The fact that someone is pushing wheel barrow today, does not mean he will not be a billionaire tomorrow. Wheel barrow pushing is a survival job and it is not the end of the world.
