ur four sujects jamb combo and another one subject related to ur course
sure? But some one said it isn't necessarily what's on your jamb that you'd put there plus I also checked there brochure it only said mathematics, English and any other subject except agricultural, I got it from there Website. Am just saying because I'd like to substitute my physics for biology because biology is part of the core courses but I didn't write it in jamb. Either way, I still have a high score but you know I'd always like to go for the higher score that's why I want to be sure by asking.

Btw I just heard that the COI/COC is out. Change can only be done at cbt centres nationwide for 2k5.

I thought he was asking about the requirements for screening registration...

But what if the ninth- subject he missed is one of civic- education or entrepreneur subjects..
Perhaps he is safe..
Or what do you think.
I dunno. They might overlook it

Good morning all, my sister scored 226 in jamb but yet to see her waec results. I don't know if it is right move to apply for change of course considering the competitive nature of UI.

Did your dad work as a statistician before retiring? Where did he work?

About the psychology ish, i think UI noticed candidates' mistakes and decided to change the UME subjects to suit the error.

You mean 0.08 point cut you out from being admitted to BDS last year?

yeah. Baba worked at the Ministry of Economic planning and budget. He was appointed as the first Statistician-General of Ondo state before he retired.

As per last year, i had 64.21 and BDS cutoff was 64.29
my blood ran cold when i saw the cutoff.

please i'd like to ask if your ssce subject combination must correlate with your jamb combination even if it says you can put other subjects. I want to study mathematics in ui, scored 280 but in my combination with my ssce subjects and jamb it's about 66.7 but with other subjects that I didn't write in jamb it's about 70.please you know I'd like to go for the higher score, so please if you have any idea, please lemme know

if i understand you well, i'll just suggest that whatever subject combination you will take for utme and o'level, ensure you fulfil 2 things:

1. When you have multiple choices, select the one that will favour a higher aggregate. Esp for O'level.
2. Never violate the subject combination rules. That is more important.

God bless

Thanks but is it compulsory I put exactly the subject combination I wrote in jamb because I had a higher score in biology in my O'level, it's a core course and I would like to substitute it for physics but I didn't write biology in my jamb, Would it be possible?

you said you were applying for Mathematics. I'm not sure if Your o'level biology is needed. I guess the o'level requirements for mathematics are Maths, english, physics, chemistry and another science subject (which i'd have prederred u use further maths instead of biology). In your jamb, i believe you wrote maths, english, physics and chemistry...

calculating from last model, you have 54.71 last year cutoff for history was 50.00
so, i'll say there's a good chance

Do you envisage history's cut off mark rising above 54??

or you suggest a change of course??

Advice me please!!!!!

well, that might be hard to predict but then, +4.71 above last cutoff isnt bad at all. Just back it up with faith. You dont need jamb COC. If at all the cutoff will be higher, u can always do UI change of course wen its out.

Lets just be hopeful...and besides, seems many art students no too pass dis year jamb..with results av seen round me here

@Rayman1000

Jamb subjects combination is different O'level combination, i.e you could write a subject in UME and not include that same subject in O'level.

For example; I'm going for statistics.

My UME combo is; maths, eng, and any two from (phy, chem, bio, geo/fmaths).

My O'level combo is; maths, eng, phy, chem and any othe sci sub excluding agric science. (bio, geo/fmaths)

Therefore I could make my UME and O'level combos look like this;

UME: maths, eng, bio and fmaths
O'level: maths, eng, phy, chem and geo.

okay. Its clear now.
So far dey said so, den combine any science subjects that will maximise your o'level points.

As per the jamb, there's no problem too.

okay. That jamb combo will most possibly mean an o'level combo of maths english phy chem bio.

Using last model, your aggregate stands at 52.83
since you said science(which will be biological science) or medical course, using last year cutoff, the courses which your aggregate superceeds the cutoff are:
1. Veterinary medicine (50.00)
2. Botany (50.00)
3. Chemistry (50.00)
4. Zoology (50.00)

other close courses are biochemistry (58.66) , human nutrition (57.16), physiology (57.79)

hope this helps
