what is included in your reference letter under job description? your job title is not as important as the job function. your NOC is decided by the work responsibilities listed in your letter which should match about 70% of the NOC job functions listed for the category you choose to select.
mokaz:
Hello house,
I salute everyone here contributing towards a better and successful application process for all the readers. Please I have a question about NOC, I have 3 years of experience as a bank Teller. I was recruited by an HR company as a contract staff and seconded to Ecobank till when I resigned last year. I am really confused as to whether my NOC will fall under Banking officer(Class B) or Bank clerk(class C). I proceeded last week to collect a reference letter from my former employer which is the HR company. They wrote on the letter that I was a staff of their company and was seconded to Ecobank as a Universal Teller till March last year when I resigned. Please what class of NOC can I apply to as a Universal Teller? As I read that the NOC class must be O,A or B to qualify under the FWS program. I thank you all in advance to your helpful contributions.
Note: I have another work experience of 1 year which is under class B category. Is 1 year experience of class B NOC sufficient to qualify to PR application?

@wunmi, you need to prioritize your immediate desires and ultimate goal. Your decision to get separated or divorced is a long term one that only you can decide. You are married at the moment and cannot at any point now or in the future apply as single. You would either apply as married, or legally separated or divorced. Unless you have a divorce settlement, you would be unable to apply under the category of divorced.
As long as you have a spouse, whether accompanying or not, he is required by IRCC to obtain a medical report and police clearance as part of your application process.
In my opinion, I think that if you do intend to migrate in the near future, it is easier to find a way around your domestic situation and get your spouse to get his medicals and pcc. I assume that if he intended to "illegally migrate" to the states then he really should have no squabbles supporting a Canadian pr app unless you are the one insisting that you would not list him as an accompanying spouse....In that case, he is sure to dig his heels in.
So you need to decide if you wanna compromise now and get your ducks in a row and migrate or if you wanna wait until you obtain a divorce before you go ahead. Nothing stops you from getting separated or divorced after you have migrated.

I don't think you need crb.com to process your PCC. Have someone go to alagbon and pick the form for you. Return the filled form (scanned) to the person along with your passport photograph and passport datapage. Ofcourse with the fees grin. Your PCC will come out asap, not everyone in Nigeria is even travelling down to Lagos to get PCC.

I bet you dont want to thread that crb path and wait forever after paying a lot.

@abby2017 Thank you.

I have been following the Wunmi situation and I think this is the best advice yet. You obviously loved this man at some point, so look at this as a parting gift even if this relationship does not work out eventually.

The option is for him to either drag out this process for you by not availing himself for medical and pcc or you going through a divorce proceeding that can span a 2year period. The decision is yours.

Wishing you the very best Wunmi. My prayer is that God will heal your relationship. From personal experience, I know that even the most challenging relationships can turn out to be the best. Don't cut your nose to spite your face. God bless.

You need to request for your transcript to be sent by your school to the organisation doing your credentials verification. You do not need to have a copy at hand.

Qwertyasdf:

Yes my transcript is ready. Is that needed too? Is transcript also needed?

I thought transcript is not essential?

Unfortunately not. The ECA is one of the core requirements (along with IELTS) to create an EE profile. There will be a section for the ECA ref number.

Thanks, please I will just like to know if I can apply as separated/divorced and get it approved, is it going to a cause a delay or even get my application struck out, I keep saying there is more to it than what I will like to discuss on this forum, that is why I was thinking of using a consultant or consulting organisation that has handled such cases for this Canadian Express entry thingt. I was also thinking I can get help towards doing it myself that's why I revealed the little I have revealed so far, I am not the type that is desperate or will lie to get something like this so it's not like am trying to get back at him or circumventing this process, I just want to have my life back, not keep having my heart broken and obviously being stupid, I am trying to move forward with my life. fadedayo303608]I have been following the Wunmi situation and I think this is the best advice yet. Good morning everyone, please I understand that the occupation on my marriage certificate as the principal applicant has to be the same with the occupation I'm claiming points for. This is absolutely correct for me.

But the occupation on the certificate for my accompanying spouse is nt the same as what we av filled in the EE profile.

He was abroad (canada) doing a menial job which we were ashamed of putting in our marriage certificate so we put the occupation of what he studied in school in the certificate. However for EE we have to put the correct occupation he was doing that period since it was in the same canada nd they may do background check on him (this occupation gives no point at all that's why I'm the principal applicant).

Can we write a LOE to say the occupation on the certificate was a mistake. Do we need to do any legal stuff on the LOE like notarizing it?

Being divorced or separated is not going to stop you from getting your PR if you can provide legal documents to back it up. I believe what some people are saying is that getting a divorce might take a long time, that is why you need to get a lawyer. Also if you can get your husband to sign an affidavit that you guys are separated,or in the process of getting a divorce and he is not willing to migrate to Canada through you now or in the future, I think you should be good. You really need to talk to a lawyer.

I keep getting payment failure. Tired jare. The card is not just working. Thank you

Go to GTB, their Dollar debit card works fine. You will have to open a domiciliary account and if you already have a current account with them,
you won't have to get references. You can get it all done within a week.

@Boss13 and @vcole.....thanks for your kindness. I just had a chat with my Cash Officer at the branch I worked. He agreed to write a reference letter stating my job function while I was under him but not on a letterhead paper. He agreed to include his official email and telephone number for verification purpose if required. I hope this should be enough for applying along with the HR company's letter that I was seconded to Ecobank.
Boss13:

This seems tough. It appears with had an employment contract with your company, who then seconded you to Ecobank. Apparently, you were on a contract basis with Ecobank. I think, Bank Tellers fall under class C and probably ineligible- I'm not so sure here.

There is also the challenge for you to get a work reference. Well you might get this from your branch supervisor. If you have a fantastic relationship with him/her. Also, If you can revise your experience to a Class B and get supporting documents for it - fine.

This is fine.

Don't forget to get a Business card from this person as well... You can scan this along with the letter. Hope you have a clear view of what the letter should contain though.

All the best.

Hi, generally I think its preferable that the occupation on your marriage certificate should be in sync with your occupation / job at the time of marriage or at the time the certificate is dated; the job itself will appear in your work / personal history).
I am not too sure, but maybe the LOE may work, if in your case you explain that it was a temporary job while he was looking for a permanent role in his preferred occupation.
Others knowledgeable should please advise.

I think you are missing the point. You don't need a consultant to do your EE process from start to finish. You however need a lawyer to change your marital status. You better don't use a consultant that will input Wrong information and get you into trouble. If the price you will pay for being in a marriage you don't want is to allow him be an accompanying spouse so as to get this visa, my sister manage him and get you visa. All you need need to do is coarse him to get medicals start from today. All you need is your EE no. You don't need to have ITA for that. My sister every thing in this life is with sense. Divorce will take at least a year. The judge will always advocate for settlement except there is reported case of domestic violence reported and documented. That will take 3plus months.

@wumiadej, except you want us to encourage you to misrepresent that you are single cos I don't see what else we can tell you. You have to seek for separation or divorced. If you feel he won't readily accept, then mend fences ooo and include him in your application. After getting PR and if your marriage is still irreconcilable,
then once you land as PR, you can arrange for the divorce after some years.

I used standard, sent it to an address in the US and it was scanned to me. I did not want to waste time with posting to Nigeria, and also risk loosing the mail.

Some people here have used international courier. Then you can have it sent to your address here in Nigeria.

Hello House,
I'm totally new to this thread, though i have gotten a lot of priceless information but i have a question.

My husband is the primary applicant, He's a medical doctor, he practised for a year and he presently works in a Health management organisation (HMO), is it possible to combine the two work experience, to claim points for 3years or just stick with the one year Hospital experience?

Hi,
Just woke up to see that the document checklist for me has being updated following the two day maintenance cic was doing. One new checklist for me is proof that my sister resides in canada and an example of the document to show is a copy of bank statement or utility bill showing the relative's address. Now previous to them updating the checklist, I tried collecting my sister's bank statement and she said that it has her old address and that she cannot give me because she doesn't want her sensitive information out there like that. She then gave me her cell phone bills which has her current address on it and a letter from her employer saying she's employed by the company and works out of their vancouver office.

Now, I don't know if I can use these two documents as my proof that she resides in canada given that its not one of the example documents stated in checklist. I also don't know if cell phone bills count as utility bills in canada because I know generally utility bills are normally gas and electric. I also tried to get gas or electric bill from her but she lives with a friend and the gas/electric bills as well as the lease are all in her friend's name since she's the renter of the house.

Am curious to know from anyone who has gone through this process and has a relative who is permanently residing in canada, what documents they sent as proof of their relative residing in canada and whether or not the documents i currently have for this is okay.

I chose 'standard' and received the hard copy in Lagos about 2 weeks after I received the soft copy.

I hear you can use the soft copy for post ITA, so, I don't see any reason why you should choose the more expensive option.
