Great topic you have here...However, in my usual truth telling nature, i'll aanswer some of the rhetorical questions you posed giving you the reason why things may not work out as we wish.

The DNA of the average Igbo man has been tampered with such that he how now started thinking like a jew that will live his entire life in America without ever think of moving back to Israel, his homeland. We have taken this one-Nigeria slogan soo seriously that we think we can just adopt to live anywhere outside Igboland despite the constant harassment by natives.

One revolution that i think we should focus on is the "Think Igboland" mantra that will be aimed at cajoling Igbos from all over Nigeria to build Igboland and this revolution involves the governors in the region. All hands need to be on deck to turn Igboland into a more commercially viable region.

The truth is that it's actually more viable to setup a business whether in form of a hotel, factory, school etc in other cities outside Igboland than it is in Igboland. So, that's why you see our investments in Lagos, PH, Kano, Kaduna, Abuja and all over the place. When people see the south east is too small for Igbos, it's really not about land as we can have an upward development as far as housing is concerned. The problem is that the resources in the south east are too thin to be enough for the current population let alone if all Igbos come back home. The onus is on our leaders to think big and plan for the future. It's never enough to tell people to leave their profit making business to Igboland out of charity. There's how far charity can take you. The world has become a global village and people don't care as much as living in their ancestral land, so you need more than just telling them that just because they'r Igbo thaat they should move back.

Truth be told, if any Igbo city can attain the level of infrastructure in Uyo, Igbos will naturally wan to come back and set up of something. There has to be a catalyst.

So your argument is invalid, this is why Nigeria has refused to progress, because the one holding us down is equally holding himself down.

What we do is to reinvest 95% in our host communities which ordinarily is a good gesture but it rather attracts envy than appreciation. The Northerners and SWners generally invest 80% at home and their host communities feel more comfortable.

Uche Ogah for example has a money spinning Masters Energy in Port Harcourt but is investing most of the profit at his hometown of Uturu. That way the Rivers people are happy with him for providing job opportunities and for equally not buying up all their land with the profit he made there. A typical Igbo man would have reinvested his entire profit at Iwofe and in that process breed jealousy.

I have always been "over-Igbo" well above "pro-Igbo" in the real sense of it. I am totally against running down great Igbo men like IPOB is trying to run down Okorocha. I believe Igbo interest should supersede politics but most Igbos lack that knowledge. Jonathan is worse than the worst Igbo leader in all ramifications if we use his performance in Bayelsa as a parameter and most other people projected by other parts of Nigeria are far below what we have but we keep defaming our stars while waiting for saints. Go and think about this and relate same with what Igbos did to Ekwueme, Ojukwu and Orji Kalu to understand.

The issue have never been about investing outside Igboland, the issue has always been re investing profits made outside Igboland, in outside Igboland, when we should be repatriating profits we made outside Igboland, back home for reinvestment.

I must appreciate all ur input up there^^^ but one thing is for sure, there's nothing under this sun that will make an Igboman not to travel outside SE, if you like built Dubai in alaigbo.
As a trader that I am, the competitions here in SE is to tough compare to other regions making our people to move out in drove.
Do you know why you u can't find any shop of any Hausaman, yorubaman, Niger Delta middle beltas and any other tribes expect Igbos in the Major markets like Nkwo Nnewi, Mgbuka Obosi and other major markets in the East is because of too many competitors not that the owner of the shops refuses to let them.
Even most of our brothers decided to travel to other places where there's less competitions.
Anyone who says alaigbo is too small to accommodate all Igbo sons and daughters with their investment is not telling himself a truth. Enugu and Ebonyi state alone will swallow them with their investments just that the needed infrastructure is not there yet.

The port question is the most important question of Biafra. Igbos being a tribe of importers shouldn't enter into any venture that limits their access to sea. it's not good for business.

Make no mistakes, Ijaws wouldn't allow you dredge the Niger. Ogonis wouldn't allow you dredge the IMO River. Ikwerre that one is non-negotiable. If you must import, look to your brothers in Always ibom. Being a humane people by nature, Akwa ibom is way to go. Igbos should get their PR right on this and open the doors to endless opportunities.

Oil has never been a concern for me, but access to the sea has always been paramount.

Our people are traders. The sea is our lifeline, and once that is cutoff we suffer.

It is one of the reasons why our first republic failed because access to the sea was cut off from us.

We cannot deny this fact.

The total assets of igbos around the country can be put to 200 trillion naira as at 2016. This is quite a huge sum to leave for others to take advantage of. Our brothers must not come empty handed back to the east because it will skyrocket the vices in the region. I urge all of you to pedal down alittle so that we can set up Asset Recovery Fund (ARF).

For us to fully relocate our assets to the east with ease, the igbos have to make deals with banks and other industries in other regions so that they can sell of landed properties, houses and hotels to them. They will need to sell to banks who will in turn sell to customers and rent it out to people. More so, the igbo men can even sell to an igbo real- estate company who will in turn give it out to a leasing company that will manage the buildings for him until we recover totally the amount that has been spent in those areas. This might take more time than the way we are pushing for referendum. This is the best way to go about making those men from the north not run mad because they have been so attached to their properties, leaving them behind is tantamount to giving them heart attack and of course, many will die.

We call for supreme convention whereby all igbos should come home this december and lets discuss constructively how we can relocate their assets and families back to the region. The first set that will return are the children. We pay more than 50billion yearly outside the region on education alone. If we channel that amount in the east, many school owners will provide better education in the region. We need to build many boarding houses so that they can stay there until their parents finally relocates to the region.

We have to think very hard about the pace of our decisions so as to meet the economic reality of Biafra because whether we like it or not, Biafra will be a country and not heaven, so our actions or inactions will determine the success of the country, therein.

You are very correct my brother, we are traders and hands men, we need access to the sea and that is a fact that must not be whittled down. If you cut off the igbos from the sea, they will surely have difficulties adapting. Please let them not use other countries as case study but use what we know as the biological makeup of the igbos.
