1. Kibera (Kenya).
Kibera is the largest slum on the outskirts of Nairobi. In fact it is the largest urban slum in Africa. Some reports suggest that the total population of this slum may be around 2.5 million. That is around 50 percent of Nairobi’s population. THE SLUM IS DIVIDED INTO SEVERAL VILLAGES WHICH INCLUDE Gatwekera, Kianda, Kisumu Ndogo, Lindi, Laini Saba, Siranga, Makina, Mashimoni and Soweto East. he he! the slum has districts and area councils.

Mathare is not just one slum. It is a collection of slums in Nairobi. MORE THAN 500,000 PEOPLE LIVE IN MATHARE. Gang violence is very common in these slums. Some people living here are involved in brewing illegal alcoholic beverage chang’aa.

The population of Nairobi is 5million. Kiberia has taken half of that. so we are left with 2.5million, but ooo, mathare comes knocking, taking 500,000 along with it, so officially we are left with 2Million.
