I am completely unbothered. That guy is certainly not as good as the hype train here suggests.
But if Bayern are interested, don't you think there's a potential in the guy? Or maybe it's a case of Bayern being stingy and not wanting to spend for top talents out there?

Whether he turns out better than we thought or not,his signing still doesn't prove we are going in the right direction

We are looking at playing a pivot of Baka and Kante, the duo that registered 2 goals and 3 assists combined last season

Common sense dictates that we sign a creative but defensive strong playmaker to partner Kante

Baka and Kante might win us the CL, I mean Meireles,Ramires and Mikel did,but in the long run it is a bad deal

If those in charge think Baka and Kante is the way to go then we are not in safe hands
What primarily should be our target next season? If that partnership could give us UCL, why the complain?

Who is more top than united? The only thing that can stop this move is manchesters weather or his family! Everything else he wants financially can be gotten the most from united! Na him sabi...options yapa this summer so for now let's dance with barca and Juve!

I tire. I don't understand this outcry for Chelshit fans. He hasn't even kicked a ball yet and his season with Monaco wasn't bad at all. Let the guy play before destroying him.
Sometimes when you see basic lack of first touch in a player, you don't need to give him a chance first before becoming sceptical.

How Bakayoko made UCL team is a question for another day.

6 goals conceded Vs City in 2nd round
3 goals conceded Vs Dortmund in QF
4 goals conceded Vs Juve in semifinal

That is not successful DM play.

LOL!

Bakayoko isn't different from Kante. Why have another Kante in the midfield when Kante is already 2 players? I thought Chelsea would be looking to get a playmaking CM this summer but alas! Bakayako has come to stay. Lmao

The point is Chelsea would likely become more predictable with such midfield and makes it easy for the opponents. Opponent would only need to mark the wing, Hazard and Kante runs and Chelsea is a goner..
Lolzzz..... So true sha

You can't blame these goals majorly on Bakayoko or their DMs. The major blame should go to their style of play and somewhat to the coach.

Jardim set up his Monaco team around an attacking style of football without trying to balance it with defensive style. This was Monaco's Achilles heel this season. The team was all about attacks and almost zero attention to defence. Jardim’s free-flowing attacking football produced an incredible 103 goals in 37 games – the third-best tally ever achieved in a top-flight French campaign and the best since 1960. And they also boast the second-best goal difference ever seen in France’s top flight.

This was what cost them against these teams you listed especially against Juventus. They're busy attacking Juve and forgot about their defence when Juventus countered them and picked holes in their defence. Monaco sicked defensively. It shows their inexperience.

Bakayoko is not your typical DM that shields the defense very well. He's attack minded just like his team-mates and hence why he has that flaw you noticed. Even Fabinho scored 9 goals whilst playing as a DM/RB for them. They're set up to attack.

But this is where Conte comes in, a man known for building his team around a strong defensive unit. I think Conte after watching Bakayoko in preseason will tell him what he requires from him. How he wants him to play and how he wants him to be more defensive minded seeing that he'll be playing in front of a back three. Bakayoko has got the strength and qualities to be a proper DM, he just needs guidance and few lessons. If Mourinho could convert Hererra to become defensively strong for us, Conte can weave his magic on Bakayoko too.

Anyway, if the reports are true then he's coming. You just have to wait to see what he'll offer before concluding.

Remember Mourinho already gave Woodward his list since March, and by then Veratti had not issued this "I'm leaving" statement. So I don't think Mourinho is interested in him that's why I'm not even wasting my time hoping we get him.

This is not about Matic. We are looking for replacement for Matic, just not Bakayoko.

The mistakes Bakayoko made in the 5 games I watched him alone is more than Matics whole season mistakes put together. If Matic was crucified for handful of mistakes (and non clear-cut) over a full season, just get ready to apply same to Bakayoko who makes clear cut mistakes almost every game.

I understand you. However, all I am saying is simple.

If Conte or Whoever decides to sign him, we have absolutely no power to change it, we can only wish him well and hope for the best.

Simple.

I don't know why our 'analysts' here are so against this Tiemoue Bakayoko signing. This is a guy that played a dominant role in a Monaco team that made semi finals in the just concluded UCL. He made the Team of The Year. And he is just 22!

Below is what the technical observers (who selects the TOTY) had to say about him...

Tiemoué Bakayoko (Monaco)
Technical Observers say: Important defensive midfield performances for an impressive Monaco team.

And who makes up this technical observers?

UEFA Technical Observers in Cardiff

Sir Alex Ferguson, Ryan Giggs, Mircea Lucescu, Fabio Capello, Roy Hodgson, Peter Rudbæk, Mixu Paatelainen, Ginés Meléndez, Thomas Schaaf, Ioan Lupescu.

Bottom line: I'd rather put faith in what these individuals says than what Nairaland pundits think. Thank you.

This one is a non-starter in Europe. They don't have the exclusives, most of our friends are on PSN, and the PS4 pro will probably be sub-300 quid by the time the new Xbox arrives.

Complete waste of money.

I can't trust Giggs opinion. All the footballers in UK now know that it's marital suicide to have Giggs in the same country with their babes and so they shield appropriately.

Giggs is having to find ways to lure foreign ballers to the country so that he can service their wives
