Shut up and don't comment on issues you know nothing about. A catholic priest is not a pentecostal free lance pastor. He took three vows, namely: chastity, obedience and poverty.
Chastity to refrain from sexual obligations, to be celibate and remain unmarried for life.

Obedience first to God, the church vis-a-vis the pope, his local ordinary i.e. his diocesan bishop and all those who are his superiors. The church is a regimented institution structured so for easy of administration and to disallow insubordination as being witnessed in diocese of ahiara. The church cannot accede to demand to replace okpaleke and give them what they desire as that will set bad precedence for others in future. The vatican has the final say on this type of appointment and any priest not happy with it is free to exit and start his own pentecostal movement as he so wishes. Martin Luther has done it before and the church is not afraid if any other priest so wishes. Unity within the church is foremost and sacrosanct. A situation whereby a group of priest in connivance with some lay faithful organise thugs to beat priest and shut churches is totally unacceptable.

Finally the vow of poverty ensures a priest makes himself the property of the church in his entirety. He is not expected to own anything. Following the injunction of Jesus Christ, he must leave family, friends and all material possesion to win souls for the kingdom of God.

The thing is that most priest has brought pentecostalism into catholic church.

Thats is it my sister. People have lived together for long with abnormality that they begin to admire it. But people were not forced into taking vows to be priests, they are equally not forced to remain in the church. If any priest feels he can no longer live his vows,he should exit the church and start his own pentecostal movement where he is the lord and call the shot. Afterall that will bring better money than being a catholic priest who is expected to embrace poverty as his calling. Why trying to scuttle an institution that predates your great, great grandfathers? While think the traditional institution must change to accomodate your ego? Proverbs 22:28 says 'Do not move the ancient boundary set by your ancestors'. People ought to know the church won't change to suit their whims and caprices. The liberal world is there ever willing to accomodate their tantrums. Let them leave.

Pope should install Okpalaeke in the Ahiara church and transfer him within one year cos the church may not work with him smoothly and this will affect the church generally. Installing him to thwart the ego of those priests and church members that beliv they are all in all. Transfer him to save the church and Okpaleke's Ministry.

The true igbos I knew embraced Catholic (the universal church). But Nnamdi is trying to raise dust. He's been setup and he doesn't know it. Let there be peace, traditional rulers of Igboland should look into this critically and find a lasting solution. Nnamdi Kanu's handlers are too desperate. That's not how things are done. Are they indirectly calling their leaders Pharaoh or what? This is why I am saying ND should distance herself from this trap. I am not familiar with northern ways and I believe there are people over there tackling and arresting the situation just as I'm concerned about SS&SE palava. A word is enough for the wise.

This issue is happening in my community and I must tell you I don't think the pope is given the right information....our bishop died and we have a lot of well qualified priest to take over even does named by the ex-bishop before he died, why then will cardinal Arinze appoint his cousin all the way from awka anambra state to come to imo state mbaise to be a bishop my people please tell me is this right? After now the will say mbaise too get sense....

Well you may have lots of "well qualified" people in mbaise who can be bishop but the power to appoint a bishop lies with the Pope and he has exercised that power and chosen Okpalaeke.

Cardinal Arinze cannot appoint anyone bishop as he has no such powers. If by July 9 any priest of Ahiara diocese who fails to write to the pope pledging allegiance to the new bishop will be derobed.

Good call by the Pope. No room for ethnic or identity politics in the church. Total obedience was one of the oaths the priests made during ordination, either do this or leave the church.
