If you feel the religious part has failed you, they go to the juju part which is no different mainly because money is involved. Or the fulani culture where you must take many strokes of a whip to prove that you are truly a man (before they give you their daughter) ......although, islamization of the fulani people has almost destroyed that culture.

I don't know where they outsource their rankings from. Most of this blogs & sites are mainly used to generate traffic for their advertisement benefits. There are a few quasi reliable type that I can say are dependable.

Great for you guys, but here in Ethiopia, it's very very very.........slow. Watching a video vie cellular is a suicide. Posting internet photos in Nairaland is slow(around 2 minutes for 4 photos) and posting captured photos takes very long(more than 10 minutes for 4 photos).

You didn't get it... The parents r not d ones to do it but her suitors. It's like competing for a boxing belt, d winner claim it but if she has no oda suitor/ suitors, you free to marry their daughter without flogging. And they also do d flogging stuff even when a woman is not involved, I have seen it severally, people die in d process.

I never thought of it this way. Makes a lot of sense considering the crowds that turn up when the matter was so private in the first place

Good for you guys again. Since I only use few sites on internet, I don't suffer that much. Also only about 2-5% Ethiopians use internet regularly, so there is that much suffering since most of them has adapted the problem. When you come to Ethiopia someday, prepare for this lol.
