Now multiply it by 50 ... 0.66*50 = 33 that means out of 50 waec point u scored 33 remember ur jamb is 28.75 adding together = 61.75, for that, now come back to u, you scored 28.75 in Jamb but last year cut off mark was 66.95 |

Good morning friend, I would like to advise everyone coming into college of medicine, U.I ,with the aim of crossing to to the professional courses that you should have a plan B &C .I said that because this year out of the 55+ people that applied to cross to MBBD/BDS , only 5 eventually crossed (3 MBBS & 2BDS) . I think this must have been as a result of the large number of the class before.......The cutoff for MBBS crossing was 6.2 and around 5.5 for BDS , much higher that what it was the previous year.... Note that all those 50+ people joined our classes from the beginning of this session and they had all it took to cross( 4.5 and above + they were great colleagues).........They neglected their own department work because of the assurance they had in their CGPA. The list for crossing came out about 9weeks into the semester , when they had missed lot of tests, classes, practicals etc. The psychological trauma is even on another level............. So if you are coming into UI COM with the aim of crossing, know that you have to really really work to earn that slot, the probability of crossing before you cross is less than 10%.................. kparozzy:well I dunno know how desperate you need the admission this year, I will advice to take science course like chemistry 50.0 but if u want to try your luck You can choose from college of medicine course like, physiology 57.79 Human nutrition 57.16 Biochemistry 58.66 your o level determine , they are also good course u can even cross to another course at 200level. |

Ajet001:my advice is that his o'level and jamb seems OK but he should try choosing another institution. People compromise what they really want to study just because they want to go to a known school which I think isn't worth it. Life is not like that. If he really wants to study his course then he should try another institution but if he wants to come to ui, try picking another course. Plus, you know mbbs students still have to compete to cross over to the teaching hospital so leave that out of it. |

Please, am kinda new here.... I got 258 in jamb, applied for medicine...., i hail from Benue state tho.... My ssce last year, wasn't promising at all, having passed other subjects but scored D7 in both maths, and chemistry, I then wrote WAEC this year, nd, am having really high hopes..., but then, I'll like my bosses in here, as well as the "Statistician" to help tell me the odds, and advantages Thanks.. 1 Like |
