The reason why is the lack of regulation. This is why you say anyone who looks at it like that will bleed.

It has become a thing a few guys control and keep a tight fist over

There is a reason why Wall Street don't play in the BTC market.

The lack of regulation is a double-edged sword. And that's why there at least 4 major BTC rates in the International market with a considerable gulf. And there are wild swings that are as fascinating as they are scary.

The BTC market is an informal market, so if you come in with a formal mindset, you'd get burned. Singapore1 isn't joking.

The discrepancy you are noting isn't peculiar to the Nigerian local BTC market. Talk to a Tunisian BTC trader and hear stories... The only reason why Chinese BTC is consistently cheap is because of the liquidity. It's the opposite in our local market.

"When in Rome, do as the Romans do."

Emefiele is prolly sh*tting in his pants as oil is flirting with the $46/b mark and getting dangerously close to the $45/b budget benchmark, while the reserves just hit a 4 month low. A rally back to $50 isn't going to happen until next two weeks at the earliest. The oil market is regulated.

The BTC market is different. Another rally back to 3000+ could happen in days. When it does, BTC FX rate in Nigeria would be lot more higher than all traditional FX windows including the Black Market and I&E market. And when the rally ends, it'd only fall marginally, but still above traditional FX windows (like it is now). It is only when the fall stays steady for a while that there'll be a rebalancing.

So, comparing stocks to the local BTC market is not practical. Different players, different game, different rules.

Nigeria is an insane country , what makes sense here doesn't make sense on other country, that's why I always pity people who hoard bitcoin, imagine hoarding bitcoin when dollar was 420/$ the btc crashed from 2900$ to 2500$ then you decide to keep by the tie it yeast back to the cost rate maybe naira to dollar would have been 350/$ by then as against the 420/$ you bought it, you will be wondering what went wrong ... mynd4 forget the smiling you are seeing here , btc is never 1 +1, it's much more than that .

All the suggestions you are bringing have probably been tried by the big boys trust me , it's never that simple , also bringing btc from USA to here is not as simple as abc , also selling btc in USA isn't bread and beans

When there is crash don't waste time , self off and continue your trade , be consistent, that's the only way to win , btc is not an investment again , the big guys in ASIA are now using it to make daily though , it's now professional MMM ( only that it only favour the people with funds , as in large volume )

You will see all the big guys speaking in parables on twitter , don't be sentimental, you will be in village

And this is why Mark Cuban said it is poo.

And why he'd be eating that sh*t and banging his head against the wall when BTC hits $10k.

Warren Buffet had the same rhetoric for tech stock. He is doing well, but he'd have had more phenomenal returns if he bought into the Google, AMZ, FB bandwagon...

BTC would normalize and begin to behave like a "formal" asset at some point.

That point isn't now, so if you want to ride the wave having missed out in the early adopter stages, better understand and play by the current rules.

The evangelism for "better, more rational" trading behavior is like trying to argue morals with Somali pirates. You are preaching to the wrong crowd, for the wrong reasons, at a wrong time.

MOD, every game has it own rules... You have to understand some basic economics laws and theories playing out in the Btc market. We have seen even the most strictly regulated markets failing. Now, the cry for unfiltered freedom for market economy should be tested once again in this world of sophisticated ICT regime with special interest on digital currencies.
