The Real Madrid superstar stands accused of owing as much as £13million, with Spanish prosecutors basing the case on four accounts of alleged fraud between 2011 and 2014.
But Ronaldo, 32, appeared fully focused while training with Portugal today and later took to Instagram to post a picture with his finger to his lips — suggesting now was not the time to comment.

Speaking yesterday at a ceremony for the national team, held in honour of coach Fernando Santos, Ronaldo took the opportunity to defend himself.

When asked by a reporter about the lawsuits, Ronaldo said: "I have a clear conscience."

Real Madrid also offered their full support to the Portuguese superstar, who netted twice as the Spanish giants beat Juventus 4-1 to win the Champions League earlier this month.

A club statement said: "Real Madrid have full confidence in Cristiano Ronaldo, who we understand has acted in accordance with legality regarding the fulfilment of his fiscal obligations.
