Miss/Mrs, with all due respect, i will say he's right.

The source/point you listed further proved him right. You listed even sub-specialities of surgery in ya GENERAL SURGERY speciality. Sub-disciplines like;

Thoracic Surgery. ...
Colon and Rectal Surgery. ...
Obstetrics and Gynecology. ...
Gynecologic Oncology. ...
Neurological Surgery. ...
Ophthalmic Surgery. ...
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. ...
Orthopaedic Surgery.

You generalized your surgery by saying GENERAL SURGERY while his was Surgery.
Morealso, he has a valid points for saying there's nothing like general surgery instead SURGERY. General surgery to me is a répétition, it's like saying SURGERY SURGERY. I would have disagreed with him if only you listed sub-disciplines of surgery and he attacked it. I hope you get my point.

Now, General hospital, private hospital, federal and state hospitals are generally termed HOSPITALS.

The word "GENERAL" should be looked at critically from a clearer perspective and not a view to win argument
Read further and wake up from your blissful ignorance:

General surgery

General surgeons employ a wide range of knowledge and skills to perform surgery, often in emergency situations ( which is what I do) . There is frequently an emphasis on acute abdominal problems

Nature of the work

General surgery encompasses a broad range of surgery which includes:

surgical conditions of the gastrointestinal tract from the oesophagus to the anus
breast conditions
kidney, pancreas and liver transplantation
trauma to the abdomen and thorax
certain skin conditions
initial assessment of patients with peripheral vascular disease
general surgery of childhood
elective surgery is also an important part of the work

General surgery is one of the two largest surgical specialties in the UK (the other being trauma and orthopaedics) employing 31% of the country’s consultant surgeons. This is a wide ranging surgical specialty with many sub-specialties.

General surgeons usually have their own subspecialty and also perform more general work. Acute abdominal pain is the most common emergency presentation requiring surgery, since the abdomen has various organs which may be causing the pain. Common conditions requiring surgery include appendicitis, hernias and gallstones.

Speak knowledgeably sir or be quiet and "humbly" learn.

I am off to work now. Just had to quickly correct your numerous errors.

Believing in the miraculous as a medical practitioner makes one sensitive and very compassionate as against all the monotony and lack of compassion from those who don't.

A lot of doctors who do not believe in Miracles would always offer you extremely depressing words even when ones health condition is true to their diagnosis. Instead of them to offer you hope via alternatives such as "Prayer" or "Make peace with your maker", they rather tell you to go home and wait till you die because medically they have nothing to offer and as such since they have nothing to offer then as far as they are concerned, you have no hope elsewhere since medicine is supposed to hold all their answers.

I go against the grain.
This at least tells me you work in Nigeria. It also tells a lot.
You might lose your licence if you try th is in developed countries though. Word.

Something I ve come to realize about religion section is;
- some peeps only try to win arguments ignoring the knowledge they gain.

I'm as well readin GENERAL SURGERY as a speciality for the fist time in my life. I only know of SURGERY and it's sub-disciplines/specialities.

But since some doctors have decided to coin the term general surgery just to win arguments, then we all have to agree.
Was this statement made by a real human being?
Is it not easier to just Google it and check than saying this?
Yes....there's General Surgery and it's a speciality of Surgery.
Sorry if I sound condescending......ignorance rikes me.

I'm not disputing the fact General surgery not existing but Instead I see it as a collective term term for surgeons..

But that is hard to comprehend, then bro, swallow whatever you read here.

There is this simple question I would have loved to ask but seems its uncalled for anyways.

General medicine is a course and speciality, medicine is a course and speciality as well. (ROTFLMAO)

At this junction, I'm going to do what others did on this thread, which is ignoring you. Enjoy your speciality Dr

Can there be any sort of an afterthought from me when I clearly made my submission in one post at once?

Malaria is pathogenic! You can twist my words and say Malaria is a pathogen but middle line here is that no Pathogen, no malaria. Period. Take away the Plasmodium and malaria ceases so you can try telling me how you managed to separate Malaria from its pathogen
My brother no vex oo say I want quote you.......

If you have made mistake or blunder don't dwell on it, admit you have committed one no one is above that. You can confuse a lay person but not someone in the line. Malaria is not PATHOGENIC but the Plasmodium species are the PATHOGEN carried by the VECTOR Female Anopheline which causes a Disease / Infection known as Malaria. There's always an interplay of the 3 elements before you can say it's a disease.

Malaria is not PATHOGENIC; but it is a DISEASE caused by a PATHOGENIC strain (of the 5 subclasses) of Plasmodium carried by a VECTOR which is the female Anopheles Mosquito

Saying malaria is pathogenic is like saying AIDS is pathogenic, it doesn't make sense at all. No matter how big we may claim to be we can still take correction from our patients and even "kids".
And besides the term "species" is both singular and plural in itself and it's medically wrong to refer to any organism as "specie" without the "s".
N.B: There are other strains of Plasmodium carried by the same vector that are not pathogenic to man (more than 20)

What you term as copy and paste was my attempt to show you other corrections to your error besides my words. Afterall I already declared my specialty which you said did not exist hence my option of showing you from other sources.

Despite all you just read, assimilation seems not to be your strong side. If you do not realise what a sub speciality is and what a core speciality is then I am afraid you just might require a mental reset or at the least some brain food.

I like the way adepeter kindly quitted the thread because no matter how you sink the knowledge down to some people's head, it wont Penetrate.
I'm of the opinion that Adepeter26 sees he's at a disadvantage and is fighting a lost battle cuz 99% of the readers have no idea who's right (including me) so what he tries to do is simply to lay bare the ignorance of the other party to the real processionals

its like me arguing which club is better between Enyimba and Real Madrid with an Enyimba fan but in an audience comprised majorly of table tennis fans who haven't watched a full football match all their lives, my target audience would therefore be the few football fans in the audience even if my opponent happens to be better in arguments, the soccer fans would know for sure that I'm right even if my opponent sways the ignorant with his debating abilities

majority of the readers in this thread are Christians who are already inclined to side with her and ready to attack Adepeter26, he's therefore targeting more of the true medical professionals not laymen cuz laymen are mostly on her side

just a thought

That copy and paste was specially for you being the special needs person you are. I have never copied and pasted any medical observation until I did it for you due to your peculiarity.

You can run a check on all my comments ever made on this website. I speak from my head and sound mind which is immensely brilliant (if I may say so myself) while you speak from an ignorant position which is evident in all you have said so far.

Adepeter has been corrected a number of times here by others besides me and here you come carrying out the same faux pas he did and that indeed shows how birds of a feather do flock together.

Now, to the dalaman comment, did he said "GENERAL SURGERY is not a SPECIALITY"? or did you purposely ignore the part where he said "if général surgery is a speciality, then general hematologist is a specialist as well". Hope aint doing this just to win as usual.

Secondly, general surgery and mistaken term SURGEON above if you could be sincere was a typo error and never a blunder. I believe if you read some of my comments, there was a part I repeated "general surgeon and general surgeon instead of the second surgeon been surgery". I had to rẹ modified my post.

His comment below after comparing General surgery to General Surgeon shows it was no typo.

In his entire ignorant argument he never ever for once mentioned a typo even when I put GENERAL SURGERY and GENERAL SURGEON in capital letters and dalaman told him General surgery and not General surgeon is a specialty.

Why are you trying to make excuses for him using a typo when he never made one? You made the same blunder and just like him are too headstrong to see it.

Save your breath and simply "humbly learn".

His comment below after comparing General surgery to General Surgeon shows it was no typo.

What is/are the Difference(s) between surgeon and surgery abeg, then relate it to speciality and specialist.
Did you purposely ignore the part where he said, "relate it to speciality and specialist"? Be sincere. I believe jesus said you shouldn't lie.
Now combine general surgeon and general hematologist....
This is serious. What the heck is wrong with te statement or are you just looking for faults
[quote]In his entire ignorant argument he never ever for once mentioned a typo even when I put GENERAL SURGERY and GENERAL SURGEON in capital letters and dalaman told him General surgery and not General surgeon is a specialty.
I now get your gist.
Maybe the correction has to be made.
@adepeter26, kindly modify your general surgeon to general surgery so this people will rest.
Lol, when they ve got nothing on you, they must look for something.
Why are you trying to make excuses for him using a typo when he never made one?
You think so? Myself, I made lots of typo errors on this thread. Corrected few and didn't see some.
You made the same blunder and just like him are too headstrong to see it.
The blunder please.

Sister
I think you should leave him to wallow.
Enough people have already showed him his ignorance.
He is only trying to subdue that with lengthy talk.

Leave him to wallow.
