With benefit of hindsight Buhari shouldn't have released the message in Hausa language because of some peoples' penchant for misrepresenting anything Buhari said. Buhari's sallah message to all Nigerian was released by his spokesman in English language and the audio in Hausa could have been meant for Muslim Hausa speakers. During Obasanjo's time there were occasions he spoke to the media, particularly BBC and VOA Hausa services and dust was raised.
