For the first time since its inception in 2004, 13 years ago,
popular Nigerian TV show, ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ has gone on a temporal break.
The show’s host, Frank Edoho announced this break is because the show’s sponsor, MTN Nigeria has pulled out.
Season 13 of the popular family quiz show ended yesterday, 25th of June, 2017 and won’t be back until the show gets a new sponsor.

It goes a long way to show our values in this country. If it was BBN you would have seen governors not only sponsoring but hosting their winners. Big firms making the participants ambassadors.

It would not be ideal to blame Buhari because we don't know the reasons for the pull out.

This is a shame. One of the most popular and edifying TV shows in Nigeria comes to a terrible end 'cause of lack of what? What the heck...

MTN is still trying to recover from the 2015 NCC fine. Etisalat is still battling their 2017 loan threat. Airtel continuously files 'Change of name' documents with CAC. Glo is perhaps the only sponsor who can take over. Bearing in mind that these telcos ape after each other, they should stop spending money on endorsements and adopt other strategies to stamp their presence.

The only problem with Glo taking over is____ (we all know)

Gonna miss this show a lot.

It was a ponzi scheme from day one! Imagine the millions of Nigerians texting to the short code number where 100 Naira is deducted and if u are lucky to be on the hot seat you hardly win up to a million Naira. One guy was once asked how much he had spent b4 making it to the show while on the hot seat,he claimed to have spent over 300k trying to be on who wants to be a millionaire!
People have wised up to nairabet, betnaija, mmm, surebet etc for survival now.
