alot of them had fear of Igbos for no reason so when a few went across the line they concluded that it was planned. they also believe igbos are the problem with Nigeria, yet when they took the centre stage their people and community remained same, or even worse. God help this country |

SonofDevil:After seing your name 'sonofdevil' then saying that Igbos will keep paying for their sins, I began to pity your confused entity. Who are you to label Igbos as sinners? Please I have nothing to argue with your type, sonofdevil. |

slivertongue:My Dear ignore those illiterate and confused hypocrites who parade themselves on Nairaland, castigating the Igbos. Many reasonable ones among them are the offspring of Igbowomen whom the lustfully took as wives after the civil war. If the hated the Igbos as these illiterates claim online, why did their fathers took many Igbo women as wives and are still lusting after our women till today? |

So Aguiyi Ironsi wasn't innocent after all. The great Urhobo general is among the first Nigerian military officers and the VERY SAME OFFICER TO LOWER THE BRITISH UNION JACK AND HOIST THE NIGERIAN GREEN WHITE GREEN FLAG AT INDEPENDENCE DAY. |

Dumaknesset:What we see been exhibited today is not a new igbo trend, it has always been in their genes and character to try and dominate others by hook or crook. Now this is a life testimony of one of the major characters in the coup and he tells it exactly as it is from the points he was in. Same deceptive characters, try to force others to give them what they hv not achieved, like kanu like ironsi, like ojukwu, like azikiwe. Trust them at ur own peril |

quid:A man who meant well for his people as regional premier, but the Igbos would not have anyone stop them from dominating foreign land. The question now is, was the assassination of this one man that Igbos wildly celebrated, worth the lives of 7000 Igbos lost to the pogrom and 1million Igbos lost to the civil war? |

quid:Adewale Ademoyega was still in the street when veterans like Ejoor were being made... This man just gave an insider account invlving only himself and how he escaped death and I see no lies here... Even the idiot Obasanjo who wrote lies in MY WATCH cannot come out and counter him because he was not even an officer when this man started. All the names of people he mentioned in his story are still alive and Adewale Ademoyega should have done well to confirm from them. No one call tell your tale better than you do. I have know papa Major General David Akopde Ejoor(GCON) for more than 18years. Uprightness is his name. Humility is his mien and having encountered him one on one many times at church (Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral, Warri) and at home at Deco road warri and later on in the Army Barracks effurun, I dare to say I can bet my life on the integrity of this man. Even when Ibori offered him the wealth of Delta state, papa choose to keep staying in his humble bungalow and stay away from politics unlike the bastard E K Clarke that has helped to tear Niger Delta apart by dining with both Afonja and Northern hawks and parasites. At 90+, papa has nothing to lose so he choose to speak the truth. Whoever feels he is lying should go to his house and beat him...how can this man lie when he was there when it all happened. You people obviously don't know this man. He will take a bullet for the truth. Do you think he is Obasanjo or Adewale Ademoyega - those lying bastards ? Were they there when it all happened. In the photos of the first 30 officers in the Nigeria, did you see the lying Ademoyega or Obasanjo... Bros abeg park well For all those shouting that he is Afonja, sorry he is not. He is an Urhobo man from delta state. And he is truly what an elder statesman should be quiet and reserved. Only apeak when your counsel is sought. |

quid:Yeah I see that What I was trying to say in summary with my post was that Ejoor gave only his account of the coups as a neutral man. He had no idea of the plans going on in the military hierarchy under Ironsi at that time since he choose to be a NIgerian first and formost. That his account differs from Ademoyega's account does not make Ejoor a liar. Don't forget that certain yoruba officers like Banjo joined the igbo coup. During the Biafran civil war, Adewale fought in the "Nigerian Liberation Army", a part of the Biafran army led by Lieutenant Colonel Banjo. Major Ademoyega was released by Major Chukwuma, a participant in the coup d'état of April 1966[1] on August 13, 1966. He then formed the 19th Battalion and subsequently took over for Major Emmanuel Ifeajuna, who also helped with the 1966 coup as the chief of staff of the Liberation Army. Ademoyega was later detained after the war for his participation as part as the Liberation Army but was released along with twenty others during the 1974 Independence Day amnesty. So that Ejoor's story of his own survival did not connect with Ademoyaga's account does not mean he is lying. He just told you the story of how he survived. Ademoyaga and Banjo have always been traitors. #Respects sir |

eagleeye2:Only one did and that was because he was too close to Brigadier Maimalari. The coup was a plot by mid ranking ibo officers to seize control of the central government from the northern ruling northern NPC. |

eagleeye2:Even northerners were used by Nzegwu as foot soldiers during the coup, but it dosent make it any less of an ibo coup. Oga the history books are there for all to read stop trying to rewrite them. |
| Re: Igbo Soldiers Plotted Coup From Independence Day -david Ejoor by eagleeye2: 2:41pm On Jun 27, 2017 |
GoroTango:You are the one trying to rewrite history. So, Ademoyega was used by Nzeogwu? And the Northerners were also used by Nzeogwu? Wow. That guy Nzeogwu must have magical powers. But I equally read that Nzeogwu is from Delta State, and the Leaders and owners of Nigeria have made me to believe that Delta State is not really part of Igbo. If that is the case, I can actually conclude that Nzeogwu also used the Igbos involved in the coup. Thus, it was a Niger Delta coup and not what you want us to believe. |
| Re: Igbo Soldiers Plotted Coup From Independence Day -david Ejoor by eagleeye2: 2:55pm On Jun 27, 2017 |
When Nzeogwu made his infamous “we were five” comment, he made no reference to the rank of the “five”. He was merely referring to the five designated strategic regional commanders of the coup. In fact, no less than nine Majors were originally billed to take part in the coup. These were Majors Nzeogwu, Ifeajuna, Ademoyega, Okafor, Anuforo, Chukwuka, Obienu, Onwuatuegwu and Chude-Sokei. Shortly before the coup, Chude-Sokei was posted overseas. On the coup day itself, Obienu failed to show, leaving seven Majors as participants. When it came to execution, the Majors designated five officers as regional commanders for the coup’s execution. Of Nzeogwu’s “five”, there were “the two of us in the North” (Nzeogwu and Major Tim Onwuatuegwu), and three more in the South. The head of the Lagos operations was Major Emmanuel Ifeajuna. That makes three Majors so far. The squad, which killed Chief Samuel Akintola in Ibadan, was led by CAPTAIN Nwobosi. That makes four (three Majors and one Captain). There was no coup in the Mid-West as no military formation was based in that region. However, Lieutenant Oguchi was dispatched to the east to arrest the Premier of the Eastern region: Dr Michael Okpara. The identity of the fifth member is the most problematic. Majors Don Okafor and Adewale Ademoyega were given much responsibility for the Lagos branch of the coup, and it is likely that one of these two men was the fifth commander. |

eagleeye2:I never said that. Aniona ibos are ibos regardless of what anyone says. The coup specifically targeted the politicians and top military brass from the north and west while sparing those from the east. History has it that The January 1966 coup was an ibo coup and no amount of revisionism can erase that fact |
| Re: Igbo Soldiers Plotted Coup From Independence Day -david Ejoor by eagleeye2: 2:58pm On Jun 27, 2017 |
eagleeye2:So, you can see that Adewale Ademoyega, was a full fledged participant in that coup. From the planning to the execution. History is there for all who seek the Truth to read and understand. |
