''Good mor...''

''There is nothing good about the morning, meet me in my office'' Nate rudely said to Jane, the new secretary and walked away ignoring her devious look.

When he turned back and saw her still sitting and murmuring, probably insultive words, he added ''Now!'' hurried away.

The conversation with Jane didn't quite go well the previous day, the girl was way too sassy for his liking, her petitie figure and her birdish voice reminded of sparrow.
If he had a voice like hers, he would have won numerous grammy's by now.

He shook his head as if to brush off every thought of the new secretary and hastened his steps until he got to his office.

Nate waited impatiently for Jane to show up, as he kept on pacing back and forth in his office.

Suddenly, the door swung open and she walked in looking perfect in her black skirt and white shirt.

''Good morning Si...''

''You are late''

Jane grimaced ''Sorry'' she added nonchalantly.

''Sorry'' Nate mimicked.

''excuse me'' she replied harshly and looked at her wristwatch ''I walked in here, 3 minutes after you and you are behaving like I snatched your girl away from you''

Nate ignored her statement and moved to his seat and sat down.

''Three minutes is too precious to wait for someone like you'' he said without looking at her.

He knew he crossed the line with that statement, but he didn't care, he deliberately said it to annoy her.

''Excuse me Mr, but you are behaving like a big time Jer...'' She caught herself as the realization of what she was about saying hit her, but it was too late, Nate already understood.

''A jerk'' he completed and stood up and started pacing about the office again.

''I'm sorry'' Jane apologized sincerely.

Somehow, Nate was enjoying the whole conversation and the apologitic look on her face amused him but he tried not to show it.

''Apart from sassy women'' he started, giving her a look that says like-you ''Another thing i hate most is kids disrespecting their elders'' he said and sat back, waiting for her outburst, but none came.

''I said, I am sorry'' Jane said calmly

''Sorry for yourself'' he threw at her.

Jane swallowed hard trying to suppress the anger and urge to walk over to her handsome and arrogant boss and strangle him.

''I am, Mr. It's just that...'' she kept quiet trying to find the perfect words to complete her statement.

''That you like to talk without thinking? '' he asked with a note of sarcasm.

She shot up her head and gave him an rude look. ''Mr Nathaniel, I'm human and I don't appreciate being insulted unnecessarily''

''I'm also human, Miss Jane and I don't appreciate people doing whatever they like in my office'' he said to her harshly but inwardly he was smiling at the look on her face and the way she kept on biting her lower lips, obviously nervous.

''If it's about the three-minute lateness, then, I'm sorry'' she blurted after some seconds of silence.

''Apology accepted'' he said with a tight smile ''Even though you don't look sorry'' he added.

''I am'' she almost yelled but instead she kept quiet and gave him her best smile.

''Well, Miss jane, we started off on the wrong foot, but all your rudeness and sassiness are forgiven'' he said to her and smiled.

She heaved a sigh of relief, for a minute she almost thought, he was going to fire her.

''Thanks Mr. Nathaniel'' she replied sincerely.

''Just don't forget that, I'm the boss and I call the shot around here'' he said and she nodded affirmatively ''you can go kid'' he added, already missing her sassy attitude.

''Yes sir'' she replied and began walking away, when she got to the door, she opened it halfway and turned to him with a scowl ''I would appreciate if you don't ever call me a kid again obviously I'm not one'' she said and eyed him before leaving.

Nate laughed gently.

''Beautiful rude Jane'' he muttered and brought out his laptop to start the day's work.

Vicky walked around the house bored and worried

She was worried about her husband recent attitudes towards her, he was no longer the Ken she used to know, even though he is trying his best not to show it but she could feel it deep inside her, she could feel him drifting away from her.

Her initial thought, had been that he was cheating but when she remembered that he had promised and assured her more than a million times that he would never cheat on her, she brushed that thought away.

She went inside with the decision to pay him a visit and find out what is wrong or what's eating him up.

Few minutes later, she came out dressed in an pinky-white gown and droved off--off to her husband's office.

''Chioma, Is my husband in'' She asked the secretary.

The ride to the office was quicker than usual, since the morning rush stopped long ago.

''No, aunty'' Chioma replied.

''where did he go?'' Vicky asked impatiently as different thought ran through her mind.

''He went out with one wo...''

Tessy nudged her and shot her an angry look.

I Can Never Believe A Man 100%

Tessy nudged her and shot her an angry look before turning back to Vicky.

''Ma'm he went out but we don't know with whom or where he went to'' Tessy said to Vicky, smiling sheepishly.

But Vicky wasn't fooled, she knew the ladies were keeping somthing from her.

''Unofficial duty?'' she asked, looking at the two ladies.

''Unofficial duty'' chioma replied, eyeing Tessy.

Vicky noticed the looks the ladies were exchanging and her initial suspicion arised again.

She just couldn't think of any other reason why the ladies will keep the identity of who her husband went out with a secret, and from Chioma's half-statement, she could tell it's a lady.

She checked her time.

'11 Am'

''when he comes back, tell him I passed by'' she said with a smile and walked away.

She got to her car, as tears crowded her eyes.

Rummaging around in her bag, she found her keys and opened her door, went in and allowed the tears to flow freely.

''Is it a crime to fall in love?'' she asked crying.

''Best day ever'' Kath screamed happily.

''Are you sure about that'' Ken asked drawing her closer to him.

''why not? She replied with her fingers splayed across his chest.

He winked at her and left the bed.

He still couldn't believe he spent the whole of the day in Kath house and more so, In her arms.
The previous day, he had ended up doing the opposite of what he came for.

And today?

Today, he only managed to spend two hours in the office before she came and he left with her.

It's like he's getting addicted to her and her body, like someone that's addicted to cocaine, no longer can he spend one hour without thinking about her.

''5PM?'' he asked her and opened his mouth in shock.

''Yeah, 5'' she replied nonchalantly.

''oh no! I intended leaving to the office from here''

''Too late!'' she replied and hugged him from behind.

''You lost track of time because I was just too good'' she said teasingly.

He looked up at her and smiled, but the smile wasn't genuine, he was worried.

What if his father had come unannounced to the office like he usually does? The thought of that got him worried.

''Since you can't go back, stay and let me make something for you to eat'' she said to him.

''You can't cook'' he said as if to remind her.

''Atleast I can make noodles'' she replied smiling and walked away to the kitchen.

Ken walked over to his pile of clothes and began dressing up without even an ounce of guilt for what he just did.

Fifteen minutes later, they sat opposite each other smiling and eating.
Even though the noodles wasn't half as good as that of his wife, Ken still ate due to hunger and the need to please Katherine.

Half way through the meal, Kath's phone rang and she took it and give him a tight smile.
''Excuse me Baby'' she said and walked away.

''Hello Baby'' she said as soon as she got to the room.
''Hy, sweetheart, when will you come over?'' the person at the other end asked.
''soon'' she replied ''Naughty you, be patient okay? I will soon be there'' she replied and ended the call smiling.


''Sorry, that was my colleague at the office, calling to know why I wasn't there today'' She explained as soon as she came back to the dinning and Ken nodded at her.
He knew it was a lie.

''I think I need to go now'' He said and pushed the remaining food aside.

Kath rejoiced inwardly, now she doesn't have to start racking her brain to come up with the perfect excuse to make him leave.

Even though she loves him, she just couldn't help it, her insatiable appetitie for luxury won't let her stick to just one man.

''It's okay, I understand, your wife must be waiting'' she replied feigning sadness.

At the mention of wife, it was like a knob was turned inside him and he immediately felt guilty for his sordid acts.

''I need to leave now'' he snapped at her and got up.

''Atleast, give me a goodnight kiss'' she replied smiling, not because she was happy at his tone of voice but because she has finally gotten rid of him for the day without any stress.

''Later'' he breathed ''I need to go home now''

''alright, you can go but don't forget the money, please I really need it''

''Okay'' he replied and hurried out through the opened door.

''welcome honey, you came back late'' Vicky said to her husband, coming over to him ''Any problem'' she asked giving him a quick hug.

''Too much work at the office'' he replied dumping a bag in her hand ''Vanilla Ice-cream'' he informed her.

''Oh, Thanks, I will keep it for tomorrow, I have no appetite tonight'' she replied walking towards the refrigerator.

Truthfully she had no appetite, but that's because her husband just lied to her---without any look of remorse.

''What's wrong'' he asked when he noticed her mood.

''Nothing, i prepared Egusi soup and Semovita, it's on the table'' she replied and hurried away.

''so, it's true, he's cheating'' she murmured to herself.

When she went out of his sight, she hurried to the room, half walking and half running with tears in her eyes.
