Nate sat in his office restless, his mind was faraway from work, he just couldn't concentrate on work no matter how hard he tries.

''Jane, come in'' he said as soon as he pressed the intercom.

''Maybe taunting the sassy secretary would help him burn off some excess energy and relax better'' he concluded.

Jane walked in looking stunning in her work cloth; A black skirt which stopped just below her knee and a sparkling white shirt which clung to her body.

''Good morning Sir'' she greeted, wondering why her arrogant boss called her into his office.

''Please, help me take out the trash'' he replied pointing to the waste bin by a corner of the office, filled with packets of the junk food which he just finished consuming.

''Excuse me sir! Come again''

''Yeah, you heard me right, take our the trash, please'' he drawled and smiled at her.

She scoffed and walked closer to his desk.
This is just the height of it, she's had enough just under one week of working with him.

''Let me remind you, I am your secretary and not your cleaner'' she said looking straight into his eyes.

Nate smiled, just what he wanted and besides that tiny voice of hers, was doing wonders to his ears.

Enjoying the conversation, he sat up and gave her a tight smile.

''It won't kill you to take the trash out, Miss''

She smiled and shook her head in mockery.

''If not for our wonderful country, I won't be here, I'm a graduate for God's sake'' she said without looking at him, obviously talking to herself.

''Please when you are done talking, take out the trash''

''I will take out the trash but get this into that coco...'' she stopped midway and opened her mouth in shook, for a minute, she actually forgot she was talking to her boss.

''Coconut head of mine?''

''Sorry, that's not what I meant'' she apologized and bowed her head.

He left his seat and walk over to where she stood and sat on the desk very close to her.

''Do you even think before talking'' he asked calmly.

''I do'' she replied, trying to keep the rudeness from her voice, but her attempt was poor.

''Is this how your go about talking to people and spewing insultive words?'' he asked, liking the quiet her but already missing the sassy her.

''No, I'm actually a very respectful person, you can ask around, I just have great dislike for arrogant bosses who treat people like slaves''

''Oh'' he nodded, digesting the little piece of information ''So, it's only when you are with me that your mouth becomes uncontrollable...''

''That's not what I meant'' she snapped at him.

''Miss Jane, just do what I ask, and remember this isn't a hollywood film where they talk anyhow to their boss, you should learn to respect me or...'' he eyed her ''I fire you''

He walked majestically to his seat, already feeling relaxed.

Jane smiled ''If not for an unforseen circumstance, I won't be here in the first place'' she whispered but Nate heard it.

Which made him wonder what the unforseen circumstance is.

''After taking out the trash, please work on this'' he said and handed her a file.

She took it and opened her mouth is shock after just a glance.

''Please close your mouth, even thought there are no flies here, there are bacterias'' he replied with a frown but inwardly the way she reacted gave him immense satisfaction.

''wha...what is this?'' she asked, after recovering from the shock.

''You are a first-class graduate of accounting, I'm sure you know what is in your hands'' he replied with a note of sarcasm.

''What happened to the company's accounting department? Why should I do their work for them?'' she angrily asked.

''Because i asked you to and please no more argument, my head is already aching'' he replied and flashed her his teeth.

She took the file and eyed him before leaving for the door.

''Don't forget the trash'' he shouted.

She walked back and picked the the trash, with a look that could kill.

He smiled, as he heard her cursing him in low voice before closing the door.

''Finally'' he muttered and opened his laptop.

The therapy worked, he was now relaxed and ready to work,

Ken was in his office, pacing about impatiently.
The Good afernoon phone call from Kath didn't do any good.

Since he arrived the office, he has been like that, restless and unable to focus for a minute, his wife's attitude the previous night, baffled him, even up till morning, she still avoided making eye contact with him.
''Maybe she has found out'' he thought
His heart started beating in an unsteady rythym and he picked his phone and walked out, straight to the secretary's office.

''Goodmorning sir'' they chorused.

''Tessy, Chioma, did my wife come here yesterday?'' he asked nervously.

''No, she didn't'' Chioma replied quickly before Tessy could answer.

''Any problem'' Tessy asked ignoring Chioma's lie.

''No, no, get back to work'' he said to them before walking away.

''It's the pregnancy'' he said conclusively as soon as he got back to his office and sat down a bit relaxed.

K.C cussed silently after hanging up.
Just when he succedded in getting Dami to spend a little time with him.
The witch calls.

''Who was that'' Dami asked smiling.

''My annoying beautiful little sister'' he replied arching his brows.

She laughed quietly ''And you are owing her?''

''That's what she says'' he replied and shrugged, he wasn't about to disclose to her that after spending a whole afternoon searching for a perfect gift for her and eventually coming up with nothing, he had to ask his little sister for help, and that one, made good use of the opportunity by charging him for service rendered.

''She doesn't work for me, yet I always owe here'' he said nonchalantly.

After sending the twenty thousand dollars she asked for, he still has ten thousand dollars left to send to her--the amount she asked for, for helping him get gifts for Dami's convocation and Mirabel's wedding.

''Don't worry, it's gets better with time, I also have a sister like that, trust me, yours is still a learner compared to mine'' she said to him.

He laughed ''then I must be lucky''

Just then, a waiter arrived with the food they ordered and set it before them, before he muttered ''Thank you'' and left.

Thirty minutes later, they were done eating.

''So, Dami, what's your defination of a perfect man'' he asked.

Now, where the hell, did that come from?

He wished he could take back his words, but it was already too late.

''well, Perfect man?'' she tapped her fingers gently on the table ''someone caring, gentle, jovial and above all God fearing''

God fearing? Now that's something K.C totally lacks.

''why did you ask''

''No, nothing'' he said and smiled at her.

''Oh! 7PM, it's late already, I need to meet with someone at the teaching hospital'' she said to him looking impatiently at her wristwatch.

''yeah, yeah, I will drive you there'' he said to her and she muttered ''Thanks'' to him.

After settling the bills, he came back and drove her straight to the Teaching hospital, before leaving for his apartment.

Back In his apartment, after an hour later, the words, caring, gentle, jovial and above all God-fearing, were still reverbrating in his ears.

He didn't why, but he later drifted off to sleep with a strong determination to work on himself and fit into her defination of a perfect man.

''I will be travelling soon'' Vicky announced to her husband as soon as she came out from the kitchen where she went to drop off the plates he used for dinner.

''How soon'' Ken asked.

''I should be ready before saturday, that's four days from now, so it's on saturday'' she said already ascending the stairs.

''To where'' Ken asked turning to her but she turned away from his gaze.

''To my mum's place, I miss her alot'' she said gently and sighed.

''Can i help with anything'' he asked, eyeing her suspiciously.

''no, thanks, I've got everything I need'' she said to him smiling.

''What about mo...''

Before he could complete his sentence, she was already gone.

''Why is she behaving like this?'' he asked.

He turned and looked at the stairs again, as if the stairs have an answer to his question.

After thinking for a while without getting any answer or a good reason for her recent behaviours, he made up his mind to have her followed just incase she wants to behave like she did the last time she said she was travelling.
