Last year after Kaduna investment summit, a French agricultural firm Vicampro partnered with Kaduna state on production and processing of potatoes.

The 120 million investment comprises establishment of a 2, 500 tonnes per day potato processing plant, cultivation of 10, 000 hectares of land and generating 30, 000 job opportunities.

The joint venture also aims to balance the potato supply deficit in the country, produce the annual 8 billion worth of french fries we import and start exporting raw and processed potatoes to other places.

This week the first harvest commences in Manchok, Kaura local govt. Congratulations Kaduna may you achieve those objectives.

This is Northern Nigeria o! Some narcisstic ideeeots will say the North is capable of nothing, but go up north and see the gradual but steady development. Even state Universities in the north have better structures and infrastructure than some down south. Some silly goaaats will not focus on holding their thieving public officials responsible for their marginalization, they will instead blame others. Ndi anuofia.

The pic makes it obvious.

Agriculture is the way out.

No Agriculture, Nigeria should just forget it.

Take out hunger, and the average citizen will most probably begin to think of great things.

The countries we are trying to emulate are where they are because they first dealt soundly with hunger.

Once hunger was out of the way, they had time for Research and Development.

Africans Generally have it wrong.
the way to wealth is not Agriculture... it will Never be.
the way to National wealth is technology.

Today, people are growing plants technologically... plant modification and all.
Without technology
we will keep on importing. tractors on a daily bases.. and importing those to fix them, and spare parts to fix them.

Agriculture is nice, but We need to invest more in technologically advancement.
