Please I need your advice . Any time I park the car and start the car to move, the gear knob is always stiff until I press the button above "P". Please what is the cause and likely solution to this issue. Meanwhile, the gear select very well and transmit smoothly. Thanks as I await your responses. Pic is attached.

Check if your brake lights are working. I said brake lights it's a 2man job

Thanks , I will check and report asap. I am currently alone, would need help of someone .

Or you can wait till it's dark, or park in a shaded area (where you will get some reflection if the brake light is working)

faulty inhibitor switch. It's out of your league, find an auto electrician.

I appreciate ur response Gazzuzz. What is the cost implication to replace the switch and how urgent must it be replaced.Thanks.
