Exactly three days from today, that is 22nd of July, 2017 Lagosians will yet again head to the POLL to elect their new leaders in the local council levels. In fact, Lagos state government has already issued a statement restricting movements on that day for hitch-free election. And the Lagos State Electoral Commission which is responsible for that election has already promised a fair and free election for the citizens to choose whoever they will be entrusting their future to in the next few years. However, the question I am out to ask Lagosians today is HOW MUCH IS YOUR FUTURE WORTH? As usual, many of the contestants and their agents would have already prepared different proposals for you that day. They would have placed different price tag on your future ranging from one park of Indomie Noodles, One thousand naira, one cup of parboiled rice, one night stand at a drinking joint, to compilation of repackaged lies, etc. Well, I will never blame them for they are businessmen and women that have learned to buy at low price and sell high for profit. But, would you be the one to offer your future at that price? Are you willing to give away the future of Lagos at these offers? Or would you ask proper questions? Remember, that after the election you would hardly see them on nairaland, twitter or facebook again unless you are ready to entertain their media propagandists as guest! THINK before going to your polling units. |
