As reported by the mirror, Arsenal manager arsene wenger hoped Saturday's showdown against
Premier League champions Chelsea in Beijing will help
gauge whether Arsenal will be able to hit the ground
running when the new campaign kicks off next month.

Wenger insisted that any match against their London rivals, Chelsea can "never be considered as a friendly" given the history between the two sides, who met at Wembley only eight weeks ago and the fact that there's always pride at stake and the desire to be superior.


After the 3-0 defeat to chelsea,below is his response when he was questioned about the defeat:

“I played some boys with a lack of experience in
unusual positions to see how they can cope with
it,” Wenger told Arsenal Player. “Chelsea went for
a regular team from the start on and I had a mix
in one half and in the second half. We paid a little
bit for it, but despite that, it was not all negative

“We had some very good moments in the game as
well, but we couldn’t score. Overall, I think there
were lots of positives in the game. We lacked a bit
of experience in decisive positions."
