Disrespecting a man old enough to be his grand pa is uncalled for. Buhari been a public figure doesn't mean we should use unprintable names on him. He has family and life outside politics. No one is immune to sickness. Why make Buhari a laughing stock when most people can't tolerate insults on their parents? How do u think Zara and other buhari's kids will feel reading such comments about their dad huh

A constitutional amendment proposal seeking a minimum age requirement of 35 years for future presidential aspirants has been submitted before the House of Representatives for consideration and adoption.

The proposal is part of a report of the fourth alteration of the 1999 Constitution laid before the House by the Lasun Yusuf- headed Constitution Review Committee on Thursday, last week.

The report is scheduled to be considered and adopted through electronic voting on Tuesday and Wednesday next week after which the House will proceed on its annual recess.

The age qualification provision comes under a bill entitled
“An Act to alter the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,1999 to reduce the age for qualification for the offices of the President and Governor and membership of the Senate, House of Representatives and the State Houses of Assembly, and for other related matters.”

It is the product of a coalition of 53 Civil Society Groups which presented it to the House as the “Not too young to run bill.”

The current minimum age required to run for presidential office in Nigeria is 40. The report also pushes for Nigerians from the age of 25 years to be allowed to seek election into the state assemblies and the House of Representatives, down from the current 30 years.Drinosblog Reports.

Every public office holder is being called names in a democratic setting. Obama was called names, Trump is being called names, South Korean's impeached president was called names. If he or his family were never ready for the insult, why did he contest?. Fashola is being called names on a daily basis. So don't take things too serious

40 as minimum is ok even with 40yrs ve we even produced a president or even VP below 50yrs through election? So minimum age is nt d problem

Maximum age shld be 60, minimum academic qualification shld be masters degree or professional first degree like in medicine n law

We can't afford another retiree president in history

Ppl above 60 can only go to HOR or Senate where maximum age can be 75

To me, I believe that a president should have completed Executive MBA because if you don't know how to successfully run a business, you have no business running a country.

All ministers MUST have PhD to show that they know a lot in the vast section they are being deployed.

All federal executives should have MBA and all state governors should have BSc plus reliable working experience.

All state legislators MUST have HND while all councillors must have OND...

Chairmanship should be a minimum of Junior Secondary.

Running a country or a local government is more than what we think...

That is my stake

I think the jury is still out on that one, check his tweets, speeches and writings and compare them to reality, and you might not be too sure about the above statement.

The major differences that I can think of are; one is sick and he is aware of it, which is good and the other does not. Also, one is seeking the advise and counsel of medical professionals, which is commendable, he other is not.
