When Tafawa Balewa was Prime Minister of Nigeria;

Chief of Army Staff was from SE
Chief of Naval Staff was from SE
IG of Police was from SE
Chief of Defence staff was fron SE
Internal Affairs Minister SE

Many other key ministries to SE

North resisted same at ABU!

Still there was dissatisfaction by SE, the officers from the region killed this same Balewa!!!!

Out of all the most senior officers in Nigeria, SE has 37, none was killed. 8 from the north, all of them were killed. 10 from the west, 2 were killed.

Then Ironsi imposed a unitary system of government on the country so that everything can belong to a region who snatched it!

We must know our history so that when we want to make corrections, we will not end up concealing the truth. This has nothing to do with tribalism but everything to do with the truth.....at times when lies litter the streets.

These are documented facts!

Why should I prove you wrong? Was the creation of states, not preceded by the unitary system of govt? You had earlier said that Gowon created the states, so why are you asking me the same question again, after you had supplied the answer earlier? Gowon created the states to checkmate Ojukwu's secession plan. Period.

Go to your elders like Chief Ben Nwabueze, a constitutionalist, and ask him to educate you on the constitutions of Nigeria.
Regional system of government was in place pre-66 coup. Aguiyi Ironsi abrogated it by fiat and replaced it with a unitary system.
This he did strictly with the connivance of igbo military and political leaders including Ojukwu, Azikiwe, Nwafor Orizu, etc.
Azikiwe, Nwafor Orizu and Okpara were all in Nigeria while the operation lasted but were not touched. I don't think it is out of place to assume they were an accessory to the fact of the coup.
A hypocrite said but Nzeogwu was not from the SE. Maybe we would rather replace the SE with Igbo to make it more pronounced ?
