Customs Is Dishonest About N486bn Revenue - Omokri by Nobody: 1:31am On Jul 27, 2017
Former Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on New Media, Reno Omokri has described the Nigeria Customs Service as dishonest for declaring N486bn generated within the first half of 2017 as the highest collected.

The NCS had earlier through its Public Relations Officer, Joseph Attah, said it had hit a record in revenue collection, making N486bn in six months as against N385 billion in 2016.

However, in a series of tweets, Omokri faulted this claim. He said, “With the devalued Naira this is not up to how much they made during the Goodluck Jonathan administration.

“The amount of ₦486bn at the official rate of ₦362 to $1 is $1.3 bn. In 2014, they made ₦425bn in the first 6 months. The amount of ₦425bn at the then official rate of ₦150 to $1 is $2.8bn.

“So in actual fact and in real terms, the Nigerian Customs made less than half of what they made during the first six months of the last full year that Jonathan was in office (2014). Please do not be fooled by APC propaganda!”

Omokri, Ffk and Fayose need to see a psychiatrist
Despite recession , they made 486bn that is remarkable ! Worthy of praise .
The loopholes blocked in customs made this possible for the revenue rise . Give honor to whom honor is due .Atleast , no longer business as usual.
Well done CG , omokri and co can go hug transformer

You guys (GEJ people) should hold your heads in shame for ruining this country. Reno Omokri has no morals, how can he still be talking when his principal supervised the senseless stealing of our treasury by Alison Madueke, Dasuki and other cohorts. It's pathetic that people like this are still giving airspace by our media and bloggers. Reno is lucky they don't live in North Korea or China.

Mr Reno the official currency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is Naira why are you converting to Dollars?
because duty payments are calculated with dollar exchange rate and paid in naira
Re: Customs Is Dishonest About N486bn Revenue - Omokri by greatiyk4u(m): 12:51pm On Jul 27, 2017
This Reno is thick in the head

Because he wants to wail, official exchange in Nigeria is no longer 305 but 362, and official naira rate in 2014 is no longer 197 but 150,

And again when did dollar become the official currency for measuring Nigeria revenue?

Give kudos to whom it is due

A looser will always wail no matter how hard you try

If Fayose, FKK and wike were among those that saw Buhari yesterday they will still say they have been compromised and threatened with EFCC

AZeD1:
Mr Reno the official currency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is Naira why are you converting to Dollars?
Because import duties are paid on imported products which are priced in dollars and then converted to Naira at the official exchange rate.
