I think its important you also know that the bill cant scale through, because it didnt sail through in the senate, The honourable speaker did mention that in the course of the house proceedings, that the only reason they are putting up those bills already rejected at the senate is to make Nigerians know the stand of the house of reps on the issues and not because the bill can scale through...

Restructuring is not going to change a single thing... It's like putting spoilt milk into new glass.. will still taste horrible. It's the same set of leaders and the same set of "get rich quickly at all cost" public.

The heart of our issue is we need to manufacture things, grow our own food, and support our own goods. When there are lots of jobs and you don't have to steal money from oil revenue, or hustle for contract, most of our issues will be solved.

The one major thing that breeds unrest is lack of work. Idle minds and lack of income make for dangerous times.

Structurally, Nigeria is very good, and actually needs a few more states to satisfy the needs of several minorities, including Delta and Benue. The 36 states have been good to reduce the overwhelming force of the 3 major peoples and have brought development to many more capital cities.

I think breaking up Nigeria will weaken each resulting part and disenfranchise most minorities.

Politics is a very interesting game. Its now that they hear that the whole country is seeking restructuring and secession that they are waking up to their responsibility just to make us stay together for them to still be relevant.

Anyway, thank you Kanu Nnamdi for the wake up call. I hope this drives them to do what is right to set this country on the right path to prosperity. Besides i am not a fan of Biafra

I use to feel that Godswill Akpabio is was the best thing to happen to good governance in Nigeria not untill i stayed in lagos for a while to see tge sheer quality of infrastructure there.

South Sudan felt it was ready... Today it is a failed state, back tgen Ireland felt it was ready, but after all the noise died down, and then people with sense came to the fore, what happened ?

Lagos state has IGR, we have 13% derivative... I am not saying we need to be Lagos overnight, but up ti date, The International airport that was promised us is still a farce... 210 members of the lower legislative chamber voted in favour of the bill, while 71 voted against it, with 8 abstaining from the vote.

The amendment seeks to alter the "second schedule, part I & II to move certain items to the Concurrent Legislative List to give more legislative powers to States. It also delineates the extent to which the federal legislature and state assemblies can legislate on the items that have been moved to the concurrent legislative list."

In an earlier vote on Wednesday, the upper legislative chamber voted against the bill with 46 senators voting in favour, but 48 voting against.

Before the process commenced, Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara, clarified that clauses that have already been rejected by the Senate are already dead because the House's position alone cannot make them scale through.

He said the process is merely an exercise to put the chamber's position on the bills on record.

You are quick to quote South Sudan as a failed state but you forgot that Singapore was expelled from Malaysia yet they are better off today. Soviet Union was broken into several countries. please mention the failed countries from the former Soviet Union. that South Sudan failed should not be used as a yard stick to say that we remain as one because of fear of failure. India and Pakistan is another country that went thier ways, how about Yugoslavia that splitter into six countries. are they all like South Sudan?
