Who doesn't know that Reps are rubber stamps in the hands of state Governors? All they think is next term whereas Senators are big enough to dare their Governors

Hope it won't go into the dust been just like previous amendment ,let it not be another waste of resources ant time

60% senators Excluding the Ex-Governors and Principal officers all play Boy Friday to their various state Governors that is why you see most Senators often decamp to other party whenever the Governor took the step of decamping......and for the remaining 24 bills to be sent to the state HOA,I Don't think more than 10 will meet the 2/3 majority needed because most of it did not favour the state Governors........you can just imagine where the state HOA financial autonomy was voted by the NASS in 2010 but only for the bill to fail in the state house of assembly....that is why you'll have a state lawmaker postrating before a state Governor as we have in Benue and Imo......But for the LGA autonomy Dogara and his men fall my hand big time.

Since 1979 to date, the law setting up the NYSC is included in the constitution which means it cannot be amended or abrogated by the normal process of law making by the National Assembly.

In order to abrogate/amend the nysc law, it will pass through the process of amending the constitution- two-third majority of each house of National Assembly and 24 states houses of assembly.

What they proposed to do in this constitution amendment is to move it out of the constitution so as to become an ordinary law that will require only a simple majority of National Assembly to abrogate or amend in future but it failed.

And I wonder why the House voted against such a move. It could be the members didn't fully understand the content of the bill.

My brother! Honestly speaking, it is really baffling. How can the House Of Reps vote against the two proposals? And there are other ones they strangely voted against? What is the problem?
