In economic analysis it called 'structural unemployment'. A situation where d introduction of more machines tends 2 reduce d deman for labour. It occours wen d firms decide 2 adopt d capital intensive method of production as against d labour intensive method. |

Its not really their fault, when employers employ a lot of labour meaning that the employer is going labours intensive, he will have to pay for the labour he employed and this will in turn reduce the amount of profit he gains from his venture unlike going capital intensive which involves using machines that he won't pay rather the machine will just depreciated on the long run. |

Labour is still very crude and manual in africans where mines are still dug by children with pickaxes. Few clean street are still dangerously cleaned with back breaking palm fronds made brooms. Machines are oyinbos problem at the moment and ithe is going to take some centuries before africans start worrying about that. Like babies,we have to learn to crawl first before we stand and subsequently, walk. We have practically understand the periodic tables first. |
