Mike is 6 Years old. His sister Laura is Half of his age. So when Mike is 100 years old. How old is Laura.

Mike = 6 years
laura = (1/2)6 = 3 years

6 = 3
100 = X

Cross-multiply
(100 x 3) / 6

X = 50
Laura will be 50 years old

97....very simple

M=6, L=3
therefore...6/2=3

now, mike is 100 years, we don't divide the age by half but deduct 3 from Mike's age.

L=M(100)-3=97
