You people like to deceive yourselves. What makes you think that can't face the worst if push to shove?

Quit being jealous. Work hard to be able to afford such for your child.

If you can afford it, send your kids there. It's more than worth it if you can afford it, your kids are smart enough and they are well behaved. I was there till my JSSCE. I left because the fees were rising beyond our means, I was slacking badly in my academics (by their very high standards) and I was also a troublesome student. I was suspended twice for leaking a fire extinguisher and a certain fracas with a classmate, plus I was always on detention for one small reason or the other (lateness, not doing an assignment, not doing morning duty, noisemaking etc). grin They enforce really strict discipline (with no corporal punishment) and the schedule is highly regimented and you get a proper drilling in academic rigour.

Lol...after everything, JAMB humbles them all. They end up in private universities where JAMB is not a requirement. The few of them that manage to make it into the Federal Universities are not as smart as you are shouting. We saw them all.

Guy, why you taking this personal na. You asked about JAMB, someone posted something about the JAMB record to date being held by a student from that school (Greg Ugwi, 2003). You asked about Cowbell, you were referred to a post about their students placing first and third nationally in cowbellpedia in 2015. You asked about WAEC you were told they've being the most consistent in topping WAEC charts since their first WAEC in 2002.

Just concede you were wrong

This happens in all private primary and secondary schools in Abia. My primary one daughter reads nairaland with me and points to topics she wants to read. My 9yo boy just passed his common entrance from primary 4, scoring 72/100. When national exams shows South East leading some people will be talking of expo.
That is the real value for your money

Three former students of Loyola Jesuit College, Abuja emerge tops in the May/June 2007 SSCE

Three former students of Loyola Jesuit College, Abuja, have emerged tops in the May/June 2007 West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination, beating over one million candidates to win the West African Examination Council excellence awards.

In the examination, 19-year-old John Yusufu with registration number 4020617/078, emerged the best overall candidate with total score of 661.92, having scored A1 in all his nine subjects.

He received the award at the 46th annual meeting of the Nigeria National Committee of WAEC, which held on Wednesday in Jalingo, Taraba State.

Yusufu, from Gadaka, Yobe State had earlier in his Junior Secondary Certificate examination obtained 10 distinctions in his subjects.

Currently studying on full scholarship at Harvard in United States of America, Yusufu was the head boy at the college.

He had won laurels, awards and prizes throughout his primary and secondary schools, including a certificate of merit in the Nigerian Physics Olympiad organised by the National Mathematics Centre, Abuja.

Knew a couple of them in my faculty, they are good but not to the length of competiting with an undergraduate talkless of a graduate. None of them is in faculty top 5-10.

Let them handle ordinary 4×4 matrix or basic Lagrangian and let's see if dem go still dey alive to tell the story.

My sister when to Loyola Jesuit brah. The education you receieve is worth the tuition they charge. The school has produced some of the brighest minds in the world who now work for Goldman Sachs,JP Morgan,Citi,Morgan Stanley,Google,Microsoft,Shell etc.
They also provide scholarship to bright students who can't afford the fees.

Do not mind all these people making such noise. It is because they cannot afford it, that is why they are saying this. Let them get a good job that pays a very good salary, you will no longer see them saying this. They will be the first to push their kids to the school.
Re: Loyola Jesuit Abuja In Pictures by sadique14: 3:28pm On Aug 01, 2017
No doubt about that, the school is good. But what is going for them is that they select the best brains from the start and nature till SSCE.Why they will not have 9A1s.Forget about the school fees, once you don't make the cut-off you are out.To me we have more bad students than bad schools. At least most of our respected professors now, attended public primary and secondary schools.

Have you ever heard of the power of classmates especially classmates that spent 6 good years in the boarding house and also especially in their formative years?. Those that went there based on community efforts or based on loan will be helped by the politicians kids if they cannot get jobs.

am not being jealous ma. I opined the former when the poster I quoted said STUDENTS FROM THE SAID SCHOOL CAN COMPETE WITH GRADUATES, Btw when put under stress they might likely not survive.

It also made you ignorant.

Frankly, Buhari cannot put his child in Loyola unless that child passes the highly contested entrance exams and interview. Every single child there is there on merit.

of course some children of the rich are best placed to enter there due to the high quality of education they almost certainly had received at the nursery and primary level...but tons of others get in there too.

summary is your post is kind of self contradictory.

I have seen graduates from these rich kids schools still in the street, most of them don't really care, cos probably you don't fit into their social status, most of the rich ones tend to help another rich person because of a reward or return favor they are seeking for ! But if you have nothing to offer only God can help you *ispeakoutofexperience*

There is always that occurrence. If you are from the street and you are in such a school, make sure you are good academically. It is even easier these days to easily connect because of internet. *ialsospeakoutofexperience*.
