Please guys, there's this project I gave someone to do for me, the guy uses laravel framework to code, he has finished the work. But along the way we got into a fight about hosting and buying domain, which he later handed the work over to me(sending it to my flashdrive) and ask me to go and host it myself, since I claimed I know little about Web development.

but many problem have been arising
so I want to ask..

1) can't I host it myself without his help? since he has completed everything
because when I tried accesing the file through my local server with
"localhost/work/public"
it's giving me some sort of error ErrorException in Connection.php line 770:
could not find driver (SQL: select * from `testimonials` where `valid` = 1 order by `created_at` desc limit 100) (View: C:\xampp\htdocs\brand\resources\views\templates\index.blade.php) (View: C:\xampp\htdocs\brand\resources\views\templates\index.blade.php

so I was thinking if I just put everything on the main server..it will work without bringing error, am I right?

2) I need to make myself admin after uploading it on the main server.. how will I do this?

The first issue is that your db was not configured well, then second issue has to do with how the application was built.

Did he give you the database export .sql file? Or is there a .sql file in the files he gave you? If yes, your website can be fixed. If not, it's a bigger problem.

He might used the artisan command to create the table, so need to for the sql.

in which folder will I see that

It should be in the root folder. You can just search for .sql

Try using the artisan command to regenerate the database check on laravel documentation to see how to do that... besides are you hosting it on a shared server? If yes then it is somewhat tricky... I hosted one sometime ago in a shared server check here http://wizzyhub.cediland.net
