Yeah but that's where there is a problem, the constitution gives room for a sick president to temporarily hand over to his vice while he receives treatment/rest, but does the constitution specifically state how long the president is permitted to be away for?

Except it can be proven that the president is permanently incapacitated, the 'unable to govern' clause cannot be invoked. These are the sort of areas that should be made clear and unambiguous in the constitution. If a specific period like '90 days away' which you stated earlier was actually in the constitution, then there wouldn't be any need for thee debates.

in what part of the constitution did it say so, the law stipulates that its only the federal executive council that can pass a vote of no confidence on the president. my friend Nigeria is doomed buhari would be president even till 2019 if he chooses to stay in London

this are the reason the 1999 constitution needs to be overhaul there are so many lacuna and loopholes in the law. the clamor for restructuring goes beyond passing some amendment bills it as to deal with all this issues with the constitution they exact excessive power to the ruling class

Shameless liar. Jonathan took no fucking bull by the horn. He was a whimpy, docile element until Wole Soyinka, Afenifere and late Dora Akuyili came to his rescue. He was rendered toothless and irrelevant because his boss did not even officially handed over to him as required by the constitution. He knew nothing about his bosses movement and whereabouts. Jonathan was a lame duck.
As it is, Osinbajo is already performing the duties of the president. There is a cordial relationship between him and Buhari so there is no need for him to scheme for the seat. Should the need arise for that, then you will know he has more than the ball.
