Guys am new here, will need alot of help.have been rejected a US study visa thrice now am thinking of Canada, which schools can I apply to and hope my US rejection will not affect my Canadian visa.
The program you intend going for will determine the school to attend, try and use Google to narrow your search. As for your US denials it won't affect your Canada application, but make sure you make it known to the vo when filling your form and writing your sop (also state the reasons you were denied and how you have tackled it in your Canada visa application). Best of luck

Good day house. Please anyone who recently got his or her police clearance cert in abuja should tell me the exact amount it costs and how long it took to get it. I am seeing different amounts so I want to be sure.

Hello

My home ties
1. my uncle who is my sponsor has stated it in his sponsorship letter that l would be coming back to work for his company after my program
2. Family (parent and sibling), I stated in my sop that I have never been far away from home for over 16 years of my academic career.

These are the documents
1. Admission letter
2. Deposit receipt of 4000 CAD from Nigeria  bank and school been paid by my uncle.
Thanks

My opinion.

School fees paid from your uncle's account right? if yes, Can he support your application further by transferring the balance of your tuition and upkeep into your bank account? If yes, let him do a bank-to-bank transfer of the funds into your account. He should then state in his letter of financial support that he made the school fee deposit and living expenses balance transfer as evidence of his commitment and willingness to do more if neccessary.

For family tie, let any of your parents, who is related to your uncle, write a letter of support for you which will state that your uncle is your sponsor, their relationship, and evidence of their relationship as among documents you will submit.

For your info and for best result, you may have to draft the necessary letters yourself and get them to read and sign it. You can add their contact details into the letter for verification. Good luck

I paid 10,000 naira. Submitted on Wednesday and got it on Monday.
When you get to police Hq, just ask of the finger print office (forensic). They will Probably say something around 15k but negotiate. Who knows, you might be able to bargain to a lower price.

Continue wasting your time there and be looking for exact amount. I have told you how much I got mine and I won't repeat it. Why not go with two times that amount and get your stuff done. Stop abusing this privilege!

Bosses,

Especially the new bosses. There is a reasin why threads are numbered and progressive. The information you seek are on previous pages.

Please do yourselves a favour and read through them. Atleast, nairaland is free and the information you get is free too.

Mehn, for example, if google is too wide, how then do you expect to actually stay "afloat" in school if you eventually get there?

Sometimes, I think people think free stuff are worthless... which is very very wrong.

I hate people that lose it easily. Just cause u gave me an estimate before and I asked again, na em b say I dey abuse which privilege? If u never wanted to answer again, u should just keep mute and don't act like u are google. U said I should go with like 10,000, another person said 20,000 and another 15,000. So I shouldn't try and clerify and budget myself before going right?

It is cheaper in Lagos. #7000-10000. But, don't act like a big man. Just bargain wella.

Missed the "no place like home argument on page nine".

Anyways, once Pali don change from green to Canada color, I will like to home. My only worry is that those I thought are enjoying it in Nigeria and would sing the patriotic song are advising me to make use of my opportunity and NOT COME BACK TO NIGERIA.

How will you feel if your bosses and respected family members who have spent over 15years in Your profession or over 50-60years in Nigeria tell you that

"the only thing holding me down in this nation is my family (Wife and Kids). There is nothing here. Even laborers in Canada comfortably buy houses and cars in Nigeria while we here struggle to feed ourselves. Thank God you are single. Go and prove yourself there and you will be better trained, respected, and offered more opportunity."

My brother.... the advise you are getting are truly aided with the happenings in our beloved country. Its a shame that nigeria is the way it is but we just hope for the best for this country. I will employ us all to prove ourselves when we get to canada so that we can be better trained, respected and get more opportunities. Also for trv hopefuls, never give up on your dreams. We aren't in this family by chance, we all are here for a reason and by His grace we Shall all get our heart desires.....
In all we do, please Dont forget to invest in your country and savings is very very important (long term advise).

Good morning all,
I intend sponsoring my wife for a phd program in chemical engineering. She will be accompanied by our 3 kids but I also want her mum to accompany her so she can look after the kids to enable her focus on her studies. I intend to be making visits as I don't intend quitting my Job as it's the only source of sponsorship.my question is will she be able to secure visa for mum to accompany her.

If you are going to Abuja Police Headquarters, I'd advice you not to bargain at all. Just give them the 10k and get your thing done in three days. That seems to be the flat rate for all comers. Sorry if I came off too blunt earlier.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Emmane: 11:38am On Aug 04, 2017
Not sure if my assumptions are true but it just what have noticed.
It seems the younger folks here get TRVs easily, with their straight forward "air-tight" applications. E.g. those with 1yr and less post grad/NYSC work experience going for their Masters get their apps accessed faster and their TRVs come in faster as well, than people with 5, 6years and above wealth of work experience, their application passes through thoroough scrutiny.

Just some wild assumptions.... Don't know sha. From the little have notice on this thread.

Mehn! It differs oh!
Someone studied Microbiology and still got Nursing at BRANDON.
Though the fellow was initially denied based on insufficient funds only, he refired and was approved.
Another studied Engineering as UG and applied for Disability Studies. He was given TRV at just one sitting.
This applicant should give more convincing and detailed linkage of his two courses. He should outline the professional and economic benefits of the intended course. This still boils down to a sound SOP.
My opinion though.
bbclue:

Biochemistry and nursing are not similar. ...why not chose something closer to it. ...
