Hello Nairalanders, I have decided not to share my one on one experience with the African Voodoo due to my religious beliefs but in response to the the thread https://www.nairaland.com/3965193/uselessness-african-voodoo-ayodele, I changed my mind.

I stay in owode-apa, Badagry. A border town between Nigeria and Benin Republic.
On Thursday the 20th of July 2017, around 8pm. I went to charge my phone at my friend's house because my generator was faulty. The following morning which was 21st of July 2017, I went there to pick up my phone. Lo and behold my gionee m5 was gone. We searched frantically but all our efforts was in futility. Immediately, my friend took me and another friend to his pastor but all the Man of God said was the phone was stolen by a guy (without giving us the name of the culprit).

Unsatisfied with what his pastor said (though I already accepted my fate), the following morning which was 21st of July 2017 (the day of local government and local council elections in Lagos state) my friend took his apprentices, his younger brother's apprentices and 3 guys from the compound next to theirs (because they are the prime suspect) to a voodoo man in Porto-novo, Benin Republic who specializes in using his voodoo to arrest thieves.

To cut the long the long story short, the voodoo caught the thief (an apprentice of the younger brother) , he told us where he kept the phone, which we came to retrieve before he was let off the hook, he also produces 2 other phones which he has stolen (one belonging to his boss). You don't believe in it doesn't mean it doesn't work.

NB. I wished we could adopt this method for our thieving politicians. After your term in office, you come and swear before this voodoo. (just a wish that won't come to fruition, lol)

you maybe right tho i'm quite ambivalent about voodo stuffs

similar situation occured some years back, we(i and my cousins) were taken to one alfa so he could fish out the culprit, we were called in one after the other

i was called in and the alfa was throwing questions at me, he went as far as scaring me with death threats undecided , i believed he did the same for my cousin before she opened up...

no video(like yoruba movie), nothing mystical, just plain interrogation and simple psychology! sad

Pray tell, how did the voodoo catch the thief? That is the most important part of the story but u left it out.

I would have doubted too if it didn't happen to me but There's no need raising dust over this issue, next time you have a case of theft within your home or organization, just mail me I'll take you there.

Now let me shed more light on the process of getting the thief caught.

Upon getting there, each suspect will be tied hands back like the way it is in the picture, the suspect kneels down before the voodoo with a tiny rope tied around his or her neck, while the tip of the rope will be placed in the a shallow dug hole of 1cm. The suspect will be asked to raise his head afterwards. If he/she is not held down by the rope, he's innocent but if he/she is held down, viola! The thief has been caught. Until he/she confesses, he won't be let off the hook.

It's quite unfortunate there's no video evidence to give more credibility to the story, but I am quite sure of what I am saying.

This is a true story, this is one of the reasons why criminal activities are at its lowest ebb in badagry. Not all you see online are fables, because you don't believe it doesn't mean you should discredit it. Because we practice Christianity or Islam doesn't mean our forefathers are wrong by practicing voodoo. For those that still practice it, let's respect their beliefs in as much as they don't encroach on our rights and beliefs.

@Op, must you add pictures to give credence to your story? either you put picture or not, those who will believe will believe and those that won't believe won't believe.
