A diseased human can transmit infections talkless of an animal.
That is why pet owners in sane countries take their pets to the vet regularly to prevent zoonotic transmission of diseases to them.
Dog's saliva contains strong proteolytic enzymes that can break down pathogens which explains your statements.

Mr. OP, we grew up with the licks and kisses, it's completely harmless. Dogs may eat and pick up dirt but there's no scientific evidence anywhere that licks are harmful to humans; they're even safer than a lot of humans.
