I think something is actually wrong with cic's website. The notice of the update they did since 2nd of August is still on the website. They ought to have removed it by now since the date has passed....just like how they removed notice for previous updates. God help us o

good afternoon, please I need a guide on how to get admitted for phd in any Canada university. I graduated with 3.0/5 in industrial chemistry in 2005, and 4.4/5 for my Msc in 2017. I have two paper publication and planning for a conference presentation by September, I work in a research institute, please what are my chances of getting a supervisor and admission? which universities can I try to apply to? please help me out

chances okay.

Apply to at least 3-5 universities that you have supervisor in and offer full funding. So, I will advise you look for supervisor in all Canadian universities that offer your proposed program. Good luck

Well, no hotel around airport would be less than 10k but you can mek arrangement for a cab to take you to the airport. If you leave Lekki at 4am, u can get to airport at 4:45. That should cost u about 4k. U are saving more than 6k which is something. But if you have the money, I'd advice, take your time, go to airport road and check out the hotels there and their rates.... But know that paying hotel is one thing, u will still need to pay a cab to take you to the hotel from Lekki and another cab like take u to Int'l airport.

Just my thoughts though.

Hello,

Is IELTS or TOEFI still important for Masters in Canada since Nigeria is an English speaking country?...

I Planned to apply for M. ENG at University of Ottawa winter 2019(January) ...
Planning on starting the process early next year...

I graduated from University of Nigeria Nsukka with 2.1(3.70) in Industrial technical education (specialisation in Electrical /Electronic)

Most schools, if not all, will waive IELTS/TOEFL for course based masters if your medium of study during undergraduate level was in English. I'll will advise that you contact the admission officer in UofO to confirm if you can get such waiver. You may be required to tender a letter from UNN stating that you studied in English.

Cheers

good morning, check the schools website, some have waiver for nigerians, while some say its compulsory, but either ways i think you need it, especially if you may want to work in canada or any other country.

i think you should stay in a hotel close to the airport, lagos is somehow, you can never tell, no matter how long it takes, you will reach the airport on time. about the money, not sounding rich but considering you are travelling to canada, spending 15k or less wouldn't really matter at least you will be comfortable and less stressed. its worse if you miss your flight.

Check in starts by 3am I guess (if it's royal air Maroc, their check in starts around 3am. Plus it can be a bit rowdy so you wanna go a day before)
So you will leave your house around 10pm or 11pm a day before. Just bathe and brush ya teeth. grin

Then prepare to wait till check in time. Have family around to gist with, so you don't sleep off. cheesy grin

(But if you don't want to make that trip from lekki to the airport at night, then go in the afternoon/evening say between 4-6pm, then look for somewhere to chill)

Though I live close to airport road but won't be around tonight. The last time I checked the least I saw for hotel there is 15k(you hardly find any cheap hotel around that axis due to the easy access to the airport. I will advise you come around airport road today around 5pm today to book a room so you don't start rushing all the way from the island 2moro morning, try hotels inside Ajao estate as they will be less expensive compare to the ones on the main express to airport)

@maralina please approximately how many weeks did "we are reviewing" take for you ?

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by mcobex: 10:48am On Aug 08, 2017
Cc: CanadianNurse, I also concur to @Cscd1234 view. You can go to the airport tonight with your family members (1 or 2) then you wait. Your family members' presence will help tackle your boredom and it will be fun too, also it saves cost. Have a safe trip in advance bro.

I submitted my application since 16th March, have not heard anything since that time. Pls how can I link my paper application with the online application so I can have better understanding of what's going on. My application is being processed in Accra Ghana for 5 months, this is taking too long. I need your assistance.
