On the 23rd of September The Acting President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo, will visit Akwa Ibom State and commission this multi-bllion project which is a Public Private Participation, PPP, initiative of the current administration. The factory is sited in ONNA.

It is described as the the first in Nigeria and West Africa sub-region .Thank you Governor Udom Emmanuel for keeping the promise of Industralizing Akwa Ibom State.

The company will produce single-phase and three-phase electricity meters in various configurations and mountings, light weight, slim skeletal, compact meters for pole top installation, prepayment type meters, split type electricity meters, standard one unit electricity meters, bulk electricity meters, maximum demand meters and smart electricity meters.

The company producing in sagamu is still complaining of low patronage
From disco......Infact in Nigeria the more u look the less you.
It still baffles me why govt policy is stifling the metering regime?
Why not allow everyone to purchase n instal their prepaid and use
Any disco as they wish n govt handles regulation and payment clearing
Platform and voila their will be light!!!

I forget this is Nigeria where the simplest thing is always difficult!

Only if our greedy DISCOs patronise them. Because this company is not the first local manufacturer of prepaid meters. DISCOs wouldn't just buying from them by giving various useless excuses.

Thank you. DISCOs don't want sufficient prepaid meters out there because they enjoy estimated billings. They prefer to collect money from the customers for prepaid meters, share the money as part of their annual profits and start to tell us how loss of value of naira is making them to import at a loss. Thieves.

Finally been waiting for this story forever. We can get Meters for regular customers with forex excuse. Akwa Ibom reps should lobby NERC to have discos start supplying customers with meters or allow people to purchase their own to be used. This is grest news I thought this project might have been on hiatus.

He didn't cover anything up. He doubledid down telling Akwa Ibomites the states lots of real estate investmenta in Lagos. It's dumb but our state house of assembly cosigned this nonsense.

We get mouth for this country.....everything we do "is the first", "the biggest", " the best" in the country, Africa or the world...Mommas Metering company located at Mowe, Ogun State has been manufacturing meters, same with Elswedy at Badagry in Lagos. There are others too but Mommas stands out cos of its originality.
Anywhere, this "the first" and "the best" thing na Yoruba people start am. Make una continue......
