Ebenezer Ajayi Fashogbon is a Medical Radiation Practitioner(MRP) resident in Australia. He is the owner of GIG Radiology in Australia.

GIG Radiology was founded in Traralgon in May 2005, and was known as Gippsland Imaging Group. GIG quickly grew by acquiring MDI Pakenham and MDI Rosebud sites, in 2009. It was then that Gippsland Imaging Group became GIG Radiology.

In February 2012, GIG Radiology opened a new clinic in Cranbourne North, and soon after that was 100% privately owned by GIG Radiology's very own Senior Sonographer - Ebenezer Fashogbon. Eb led the way with his small and hardworking team to open the fifth clinic at the Arena Shopping Centre in Officer which launched in April 2015. The centre is fully equipped with different kinds of specialised equipment and well-qualified staff.
GIG Radiology also provides a bulk billing service for: Xray, CT, Contrast CT, Echocardiogram and some Ultrasound services.

Bulk Billing is when a provider bills Medicare directly for any medical or allied health service, that the patient receives. Where a provider and a patient enter into a bulk billing arrangement, the Provider accepts the relevant Medicare benefit, as full payment for the service, and Patient assigns their right to a Medicare benefit to the servicing provider, allowing the benefit to be paid directly to the payee provider .

If a practitioner bulk bills for a service, the practitioner undertakes to accept the relevant Medicare benefit as full payment for the service. Additional charges for that service cannot be raised. http://gigradiology.com.au/Bulkbilling

Toun Okewale Sonaiya is a media entrepreneur and broadcaster who has practised in Nigeria and London. Her WFM 91.7 is the first women-centric radio station in West Africa. The innovative radio station targeted at a niche market, came into being when the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) issued a licence to St. Ives Communications (owners and operators of the radio station) to operate a specialised radio station for women and the family.

Toun Okewale Sonaiya: Voice of Women | Guardian Woman | Personality

Ques: What was the gap that you felt WFM would be filling? Are you satisfied with your achievement so far?
"In 2012, we did a study on radio as a tool for women development in Nigeria. We targeted women in the corporate world, businesswomen and female students of tertiary institutions.

The study showed a gap for a women radio and identified only 17. 5 percent of existing radio programmes are targeted at women. 73 percent of the women we spoke to, complained of unbalanced women programmes. They want more programmes to discuss business, money matters, politics, and career, and not just women being seen as victims of domestic violence.

From that study, 75 percent did not like the content on existing stations. It was seen as prejudiced, one-sided, and not representative of the total woman. We knew immediately there’s a need for a women radio station, and wanted to fill the gap. 77 percent women said if programming focused more on representing a complete picture of the woman, they would not just listen but will participate.

They want more women involved in radio management, production, and presentation, particularly women from different backgrounds, which is what we have done here representing the north, south, south-south and east.

Our vision is to use radio as a tool for women development, with a mission to be the leading, trusted and reliable source on all that pertains to the woman and all that concerns her. We are achieving this through the hard work of colleagues and partners. We are grateful." https://guardian.ng/guardian-woman/toun-okewale-sonaiya-voice-of-women/

Ade Kassim has had an interesting career as an Oracle Solutions Architect. It is a job that has taken him to Australia, Belgium, New Zealand, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom. He was even nominated for Consultant of the Year Award for the Australasia region, representing Oracle New Zealand.

During his journey to different countries, Ade Kassim (or 'Kass', as he is popularly called) dreamt of lush meandering vines, grape-stained hands, and golden light washing over his own vineyard. Life passed through years of travel, career and family, but the dream remained constant until he bought a vineyard, in Australia.

Nestled on the outskirts of Mansfield in the foothills of the Victorian Alps, Kass became custodian of the mature vines, passed on from a man who had planted the seeds, and sown the story. Grape growing is a fine balance between art, science, patience and hard work. To help maintain the symmetry, Kass brought on board, expert viticulturist, Timo to help him create the right blend of wines from his vine. When the grapes were hand-picked, Kass employed the expertise of Ros, an award-winning local winemaker to press the fruit and make the juice

Today, his vineyard produces Vitis Botanica, a light refreshing finely crafted wine, without alcohol.

Yorubas have put IT/tech sectors on a lockdown. We are the best in West Africa and arguably the best in Africa. But an average chestbeating Igbo won't understand how building softwares and IT generally are entrepreneurial. In their shallow and unexposed mind, entrepreneurship is about opening a 2x2 shops, importing fake products and suffering themselves by selling gala and lacasera in traffic. Little do the know that the likes of Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Ma etc made their billions through IT

That best in Africa go raise eye brows small oh breh. grin The Kenyans aren't playing at all lol. But yeah.. We are miles ahead of everyone in Nigeria. Have y'all seen this?

http://techcabal.com/2016/09/19/nigerias-top-programmers-as-ranked-by-github/

Almost all of them are Yoruba.

According to Hacker rank, Nigeria ranks 3rd on the list of countries with the best programmers. We all know yorubas are the ones who put Nigeria on that list. We tagged lalashitlala the day we opened threads on it. He never moved any of them. That one na story for another day

Sadly, our people don't know these things. I'd like to believe it's because we don't suffer from inferiority complex like those clowns. But then again, it's upon every Yoruba man to know what's happening around him before outsiders start pulling out useless figures.

If you go to Andela in Yaba , na Yoruba full the place. Same with most of the startups in Yaba. We just have this natural flair for tech. It should be known.

Hopefully, we can sustain it so Tech doesn't become another thing Yorubas "used" to dominate like education

In 1994, Adewale Tinubu decided to venture into the oil and gas business, leading to his co-founding of Ocean and Oil Limited with Omamofe Boyo and Onajite Okoloko. The trio bought their first vessel, MT Carolina, in the mid-90s, to supply diesel to off-shore companies from the Port-Harcourt Refinery, and within the space of seven years, the fleet had grown to seven ships.

In 2000, when the government wanted to sell its controlling stake in the defunct Unipetrol Plc, a downstream oil marketing company, they bidded for it, and won. In December 2001, they made a purchase of Italian Agip Petrol’s 60 percent stake in Agip Nigeria Plc, for $74 million. Wale and his team later branded the company Oando Plc.

Tinubu's significant contribution made Oando, the first African company to be enlisted on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, with a market capitalization of more than 3 billion South African ran,d in 2005. That same year, Oando Energy Services was incorporated.

Through his leadership, Gaslink, a subsidiary of Oando Plc, successfully phased and executed the construction of about 100km of natural gas pipeline distribution network from the Nigerian Gas Company city gate in Ikeja, to cover the Greater Lagos Area including Ikeja, Apapa, and their environs.

Gaslink currently delivers over 60 million standard cubic feet per day of gas, to over 150 customers on the Greater Lagos gas distribution network grid, with the capacity to deliver up to 101 million standard cubic feet per day.
http://www.marketingedge.com.ng/2016/11/20/wale-tinubu-when-vision-inspires/

Oando is now the number one distributor of petroleum products across Nigeria, and the second largest downstream fuels company in the country. Through its subsidiary Oando Gas and Power, the group built the first 12.5MW IPP Power plant for Lagos State Government, in 2010. By 2011, Tinubu concluded a $3billion USD gas facility contract, with the Federal Government.

In 2013, he led the listing of the company’s upstream subsidiary, Oando Energy Resources on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX).

Chief Emmanuel Olatunji Adesoye, OON the Asiwaju of Offa, is the Chairman of Adesoye Group Holdings. It is a conglomerate of various companies, engaged in businesses ranging from oil and gas, to travel, consultancy, steelworks, education, plastics, furniture, engineering construction and insurance.

His most popular subsidiary is Okin Biscuits, located in Ijagbo area of Offa, in Kwara State. Okin Biscuits unlike Tate and Lyle, Nigerian Sugar Company and other companies that went into early extinction, thrived and surprisingly survived the unfriendly economic policies, during the long period of military rule in the country. Today, the company is being offered for sale at a total cost of $20 million USD. It stopped production in 2007.

Chief Adesoye also set up the Adesoye College in Offa, Kwara State - a co-educational, private, boarding school with high standards of education, in 1987. Adesoye College has earned a reputation, as one of the most prestigious schools in Nigeria. Parents who have had their children trained at the college include former presidents, serving governors, ministers and others in similar positions of authority.

But another of his subsidiaries called Supasteel is doing quite well in the engineering sector. Supasteel Limited is a wholly indigenous engineering, procurement and construction company, specializing in steel fabrication, mechanical and piping installations, as well as the repair and maintenance of static and rotary equipment, for process plants.

Their technical partners include Messrs BIS Dinafit SRL of Romania, Monticor Industries SA, and MB Engineering Services of Scotland. One of the outcomes of this successful partnership, resulted in the restoration of the damaged reactor, re-generator, orifice chamber and flue gas re-boiler of the Fluid Catalytic Cracker (FCC) unit, of the Port Harcourt Refinery which was damaged in an explosion at line up for service, a few years back.

A few years back, the federal govt decided to encourage the growth of community radio stations, in a bid to bring information and entertainment closer to the people. This led to the multiplication of Frequency Modulation (FM) radio stations, across the length and breadth of the country. In the South-West, there has been an increase in the number of existing stations.

LAGELU 96.7 FM and SPLASH 105.5 FM: Both stations are based in Ibadan, and jointly owned by Chief Adebayo Muritala Akande, the Maye of Ibadan, who is the Chairman of West Midlands Communications Limited, incorporated in 1990.

Splash 105.5 FM Ibadan was rebranded the "Integrity Station," or "Radio Omoluabi" in Yoruba, on 25 August 2008 by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission. Lagelu 96.3 FM is touted as the first indigenous private radio station in Ibadan, Oyo State. It broadcasts its' programmes in Pidgin and Yoruba language.

FRESH 105.9 FM: Popular gospel musician Yinka Ayefele, (MON) has set up Fresh FM radio, in the city of Ibadan. The station was granted its' license in 2015. The National Broadcasting Commission, (NBC), during an inspection tour of the newly-licensed station, commended the chairman of the media house for acquiring latest broadcast equipment.

The station airs in 6 states: Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Kogi, Ondo, Ekiti and Kwara. Its focus is to promote, complement and revamp the entertainment and lifestyle scene, in Ibadan. Yinka Ayefele is a talented chap who owns a flourishing business concern. He owns an hotel in Ibadan called Downtown Hotel, in addition to his radio station called Fresh FM. He also owns a music production company that produces jingles, voice overs and adverts. Ayefele is also one of the few musicians with a full fledged band. All these, produce multiple streams of income for him, which keep him busy and quite successful.

RAVE 91.7FM : The Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of RAVE 91.7 FM in Osogbo, Osun state is Femi Adefila, a veteran broadcaster with over 10 years experience. PETALS 102.3 FM : Afenifere chieftain, Yinka Odumakin, inaugurated Petals 102.3FM in Ibadan, Oyo State, in 2015. For most of his life, he has been known as a political activist. So setting up a radio station, was not something anyone would have associated with him. However, he has given a pledge that his radio station will be objective and fair, to all Nigerians, irrespective of political affiliation.

With Petals 102.3 FM now on board, the number of radio stations in Oyo State is now 15.

Pls may I suggest that instead of drawing up such a long list, it would be better to just go through the thread to check who has been profiled, before listing those who have not been mentioned at all.

It would be faster & easier that way. And it would help us avoid repetition, which could make the thread quite boring. I do hope you understand. Thanks. wink

Iranloye studied Biochemistry at the Federal University of Technology Minna, before getting an MSc. from the University of Ibadan. She had previously worked with Nigerian Breweries, before moving to Ekha Agro Processors as a manager. She left after a few years to establish her own firm.

PIL has created a supply chain involving up to 5,000 farm families which include more than 2,000 registered and unregistered outgrower farm families, marketers, the labourers, the traders, the transporters, the retail input suppliers. The company produces High Quality Food Grade Cassava Starch (HQCS).

PIL also has a 20-ton/day starch factory, which was incorporated in 2012, and an additional production line of 30 tons/day capacity, which was added in 2015, to meet customer demands and satisfaction. The company also has 400 hectares of cassava farmland located at Alayide-Wasimi Village, Ado-Awaye, Oyo State, in a farming community of about 10,000 hectares of farmland.

The company’s asset base as at December 2015 was about $5million USD comprising its factory, farmland and equipment. It generated $3.5million as revenue in 2015, and has saved the nation more than $7million in forex, in the past two years.
