Nigeria police in Nigeria highway? Have u ever passed asaba-onitsha Road? Or benue to Enugu Road? Infact, almost all roads in the east. They will search you till they see something in your car to use against you.

I think it depends on the state ...I won't mention a state but ask people in KW and some parts in OYO ...they 'll tell you that police search cars for hours ,intact not only under your seat but your rug, lift you back seat up self ..especially if you are young guy driving or you are all guys in the car...and once they see any young guy driving ,they believe you are into illegal business ....

Abeg no talk this again. Police searched me in uga anambra state for close to 1hour. Even my wallet. He searched and counted how much I had in me. He searched boot and bonnet. He turned my car upside down. When he finished and didn't find anything, he started begging me for money. Forget Nigeria police

I stopped giving people lift many years ago after one family I helped stole my Blackberry despite the fact I helped them from where they seemed stranded late at night .

similar to mine. I was going home after work. Stopped at AYA junction in Abuja and gave people lift. Just for me to get home, took out my computer bag that was lying at the back seat and the 30k I withdrew that day gone.
That's my last. Will never give strangers lift again.

You sure are funny. Imagine being stranded along Benin-Ore Road or that long stretch of road around Okija that connects Anambra and Imo State or around Isiala Ngwa in Abia State in the evening. The bad thing about these kind of places is that the nearest house might be so far away and there might not be network signal. So good luck contacting your taxify and uber drivers without network and where they don't even OPERATE.....My dear, just Pray some shit just don't happen to you. Just Pray....

On a serious note, except you will check out the soldier very well like one guy below (madcow1) that said he checked out a policeman that wanted a ride in his car, then still don't pick up please. The new way people get their cars snatched especially in fct is that they drive close to you telling you you have flat tires, when you stop alight to check it, the come push you out enter your car and zoom off. In addition park your cars where it is very safe, most car thiefs are mechanics and they force your cars open through the rubber casing around your car door unlock it with a metal string. Let's not fall victims.

Police is your friend....

I don't give lifts,
