Hi, thanks for your reply.

Actually it's not really about the 7m or how much he's committing, He's committing himself alright... I just paid over 7k CAD. That's about as far as commitment goes at this stage. My upkeep obviously won't be from the said 7m balance but from subsequent inflows to the account in the not too distant future. It's just an estimate of what would be on the account by ending. Could be higher.
Since it's a business account, transactions are processed on it at least 3 times a week. Closing amount as at 2 months ago was nearing 13m, then we bought goods to restock the store, money left the account(outflow), came back after sales (inflow) You get my drift?

That was why I put a caveat earlier that the inflow and outflow for the last 6 months is quite strong.

So it's not about the closing balance as at the time I print the SOA.

Hello Boss,

We all got your drift.
However, convincing the VO that you are up to it financially is key.

People with even bigger balances and transactions have been delayed too.

No matter what, the onus is on you to prove to the VO handling your case that you wont work to fund your studies.

Yes, you have paid your fees. If it is possible ask your dad, to transfer the upkeep amount to your account. That way you have "less explaining" to do.

That said, the above is just my opinion.

Goodluck and Godspeed.

You could apply for a less competitive Msc program related to your Law. Don't mind anyone saying 2.2 can't get an Msc admission, at least, I sabi two people now.
You could as well do a PGC course in any College, Humber and co.

Never give up.

School: UNBC - University of Northern British Columbia
Course: MSc Biochemistry
Yes i did submit a separate application for the TA after i was advised by my supervisor to do so.
When it comes to getting a scholarship, TA and the likes from an institution, i would say the key is your research proposal, ensure you take your time to draft one, if you do, it could save you thousands of dollars!
All the best Sir/Ma.
cuspy:

Congrats on the TA issue. If you don't mind, what school and what program are you going for? What aspect of you application do you think made you bag this TA position? Did you make a separate application for the TA position or all applicants to the school are considered?

Congrats again.

I get your drift but my case here is that your dad needs to tell the vo in his own letter of support how much he will commit for your living expenses (idott has to be spelled out) and the vo expect you to have the money before you travel (that's why most people are asked to get an assurance letter from the bank to state the funds will be transported to Canada when it's time). If your dad is the sole signatory to his company let him wait till when the account has around that "13 million" or more that you talked about then he can now pledge to give you around 5 million naira for your living expenses (though the minimum is CAD10K=#3million), whatever he will be pledging for your upkeep for the year shouldn't be less than the 3 million naira (even if he won't give u all the money now cos I know most people will be sending the upkeep money on a monthly basis but NEVER tell the vo that). You still have time so I will advise you wait when the account balance increases a bit before you apply but if you can't wait then make sure your dad is specific about the amount he wants to commit for your upkeep. NB: He should also make reference to his PFA as that will help. Trust me the closing balance is very important, infact more important than the inflow and outflow (as long as there is proof of how the money was made.....like comany registration).

Oh okay. Duly noted. Thank you.

I wish to immigrate to Canada via the student route. but the student fee s how do I pay them because I don't think I can afford that with the whole visa and traveling expenses. what I can get is the traveling and visa expenses. how do I crossover the border of fees. I need you experience input on this dilemma I find myself in.

Good evening house, please I want to find out if it's possible for me to apply for masters in any good Canadian university in an IT related field, data science especially. I read estate mgt and graduated with second class honours, and presently working in the financial sector. Any advise from the experienced gurus in the house will be duly appreciated.
Good luck to all expectant applicants in the house.....

I have just been awarded a TA by my institution, effective 31st August 2017, this is expected to cover a substantial amount of my tuition. I am yet to get my TRV despite applying much much earlier. Should I send a mail to CIC attaching the letter to see if that would make them speed things up?

IMO, Yes.

Hello Everyone. I am a silent observer on this thread and I must say, you all have been of soo much help.
So I submitted my application on the 2nd of June. And I just got back my passport only to see a refusal. The shocking part is that I am not as disappointed as I thought I would be probably because of the reason.
So let me share my profile.
I have a Bsc in Medical laboratory science. Graduated in 2012. Volunteered at an NGO in 2013. Did my internship in 2014. Served in 2015 and since 2016, I have been working at an NGO.
I graduated with a 2.1. I applied for Masters in Public health last year and 3 schools denied me. I decided to try again this year with 4 schools...one for PGD in environmental public health in Concordia University and as I expected, I got an admission. Unfortunately, I did not get any for masters in the other 3 schools.
While submitting my visa, I committed over 12 million naira, this is asides the 2500CAD I already paid as part of my tuition fees. 2 landed docs worth over 8m was committed. Our house and a rented apartment we have was also surveyed and committed.
My mum is my sponsor and I am the only child.
I got my passport today and the reason for rejection was lack of funds. This is laughable because I didn't expect it. Please I need your feed backs.

Sorry about the outcome of your application. As it is right now, your application has been closed and refused. You can either reapply or seek a judicial review in the federal court(which is highly unlikely you will win unless your case has merits and saw errors from the VO).

Kindly share the reasons and your profile as well order for your GCMS note.

I think you should atleast start your search through google. It will help you narrow your choice. People here can then help you on a variety of things from tips on how to get supervisors, research proposals etc to visa application.

Yea true. The first box is not related to funds sufficiency.

Your best chance will be to have your mum pay your full tuition and either transfer funds for your living expenses for the first year to you or leave it in her account.

Sometimes, the issue of insufficient funds cut across different factors.

1. Insufficient proof of relationship to sponsor.

2. Lump sum deposit of funds were seen in the account that was unexplained or did not show average income of sponsor.

3. Source of income/funds was not evidenced.

Using your mum as a sponsor puts you in pretty much good chance as to credibility to funds availability during your study. However, this does not entirely mean that if any trace of uncleared funds is seen in the account statement or financial document submitted it will be overlooked. A Visa officer main prerogative is to make sure fund is accessible by the applicant irrespective of who the sponsor is. The more you show you have direct access to funds, the better chance you have.

Notwithstanding, ensure you order for your immigration file AKA GCMS file note. It will help you know the exact reason inferred by the visa Officer.
